My last bag seeds are all female but I want pollen for hybridizing. The plan is to top the plant very early, keep the mother plant in veg as long as necessary for the cut tops to root and then by stressing cuttings turn them into hermies. Pollinate flowering mother and harvest some seeds. If the plan is right, I can purchase some great seeds and replicate the process.
Does anyone have experience in a plan like this or have other ideas? Thanks

I'm new to that method. Is that how you get a Hermie with feminized seeds?

I would think a clone pollinating itself wouldn’t yield much phenotype potential. Kind of inbreeding actually. You would need like 5 seeds of the same strain but different plants to even get started. Imo. Then interbreed here and there with a whole other strain.

how did weed get started? What came first the plant or the seed?

What I'm asking is "taking a cutting and stressing turn it into a Hermie"? And then you got feminized seeds?

Yeh that’s the long way. You could just hermie the mother. To make it easier. Or use colloidal silver on the mother. If you just want a batch of seeds that are identical to the mother. Or just buy og cheese and grow it normal and you’ll have plenty of seeds.

What's the best way to guarantee the right amount of stress to make it happen?

How do I guarantee a Hermie? How would you go about it?

Colloidal silver or let it go past harvest and it will eventually hermie as a last resort. Or mess with the light schedule halfway through flower. Or all of the above. But messing with light cycle is probably all you need. Or get og cheese and you won’t have to do anything it will seed guaranteed

If they are bag seeds, probably an unknown strain, and you already have only females from them what are the chances that one or more of the is already a hermaphrodite?

My thoughts are that they already will show some male flower parts. Even if the only male part that shows is the banana looking part of the flower it should already be able to pollinate itself. If they are going to show any male flowers it will probably be around the 4th or 5th week of flower.

I would try to avoid having a hermaphrodite. But, if that is what the grower wants, then so be it.

Lady boys make lady boys. If you are knowledgeable about plants and growing in general then you can apply to that weed cultivation because plants all follow the same rules and work the same with a few different charachteristics. Botany is botany

So all I need to do is take one my cuttings and stress it with the lights while budding? It will herm?

Yeah but your gonna have an endless supply of seeds. You get seeds off a hermie then it’s a high probability every plant from those seeds is gonna hermie and it’s not going to be useful.

you want seeds to hang on to so you can grow when your ready but hermie seeds aren’t worth it. If you want to go that route buy a bunch of regular seeds and breed a male and female together and you will get no hermie regular seeds. That is the answer your looking for I think. Otherwise just keep a mother in constant in constant veg and cut clones.

Why wouldn't that be useful. You get more seeds when needed and I can also put a real female by it to pollinate them as well, right?

Because no one I know wants seedy weed. That’s what you’ll get if you do it like that. Your taking a non desirable trait and propagating it.

I know it'll have seedy weed. That's what I want. I can already grow seedless bud. I'm trying to start new strains and mix em up a little.

You can buy a bunch of regular seeds and grow out a male and female let them do the deed then you got good seeds for free. Otherwise you can buy male weed pollen and do it that way
