Alfalfa into soil

In my greenhouse, I rotate my crops on a two year cycle. I only grow 4 plants each year, though I have 8, 8X8 foot sites in my greenhouse. Now the question. My Mustang passed away(31 years old), and I have some alfalfa cubes left. Can I just bury those cubes in my fallow ground for next years crop? I'll keep the soil moist, and it will be uncovered and open to the elements all next winter.

No clue me, but sorry for your loss! That's a ton of room do you grow other stuff in the rest doc?
