Hydro grow

Northern Lights Auto by Royal Queen Seeds
80% Ind. 20% Rud.
Indoor
Hydro, Waterfarm 12L by GHE with extra airstone and drilled more holes
Day 44 of 70-77)
250w HPS
Temps during day 26-27°C and night 19-20°C
Humidity 45-60%
Nutes AN series: current 3th week of flowering. GrowMicroBloom, Big bud, b-52,Rhino skin, Bud candy and Calmag
NO visible pests (yet?)

So i am having these little "rust" spots on few to several leaves on my plant; Other shoots/leaves are perfectly fine.

I did the home check and no rust on my fingers...

What could cause this to happen?

(I have another plant on Soil grow in the same tent wich shows same symptoms as i described earlier.) i can add some photos if you guys want to see but its my first prepped soil grow with some hot soil problems as well.

But now for the Hydro problem.

Could it still be Fungus, hopping on from leaf to leaf...

I havent defoliated almost at all, few branches/shoots every couple of days not to stress her too much.

OR

Am i too eager with my Ec trying to take it to over the 2.0 line?

I have been raising the Ec slightly week by week. Now we are at point 1.82 wich is slightly too strong (dropped it just a while ago) compared to last weeks 1.90 and it was decreasing then.

Im having second thoughts with the way i have been watering my Waterfarm:
Straight trough the roots down to the "sink" with Ec just little bit over 2.0
Could this "burn roots and lock out nutes?

What i have found online is; fungus or cal or mn or boron def.
Im not buying that (yet)

3rd pic is the other shoot(s)

Sincerely

Toiskis

Hi @toiskis

Looks to me like a calcium / magnesium deficiency (magnesium would be my 1st guess).

You can try adding more cal mag or a pinch of Epsom salts.

I'd wait for other opinions to come in.

Not sure if you've seen this chart already, but it helps guide for bumping your EC.

Hey Toiskis,

Welcome to 420! Soil guy here so I’m no help but hang tight and this crew will get you sorted

Hey @Rexer think you uploaded the invisible version of the chart….
Thanks

And here it is :meditate:

Thank you for sharing your opinion, i (too) suspected the Calcium deficiency.

Im dreaming about RO system but its not possible ATM. Tap water Ec where i live is 0.16 so its not dirty/hard.

I increased the dose of cal mag from 1 to 1,4ml/L and made fresh refill without calmag Ec. 1.7
With calmag it climbed to 2.20

And did some foliage feeding with cal mag as soon lights went out. Im doing 20/4 from seed to harvest.

Im using 250w with 10% boost and distance from top of the plant to cooltube(glass wont burn my fingers but its warm) is ~17cm

If growing hydroponically would be a religion; i already had the bible red and understood... Referring to your missing Bumb the Ec chart.

Hey dude!

I'll put pic for you from my soil grow. Its the one on the right.
Pre info for "hot" soil:
100g RQS easygrow pellets
~100g Chicken shit
Special summer flower soil 10L
Regular gardening soil 10L
Perlite 10L
30L fabric pouch with overwatering tray.

Its white widow automatic from rqs
7th week from seedling
Only tap water with 0.17 Ec
Watering volume is 1,5L every second day

I have been watering her a little wrong until now? I think.
The main coalas leaves have been wilting curling and clawing at the same time but i dont have watered the way i pour too much water and the excess will go sitting still to overwatering tray

Im more of a hydro grower but i like soil growing outdoors...

Hey Toiskis

If you see some nute burn you may need to dilute the solution down, keeping the cal mag ratio. Keep an eye on new growth and use photos to ensure that the deficiency doesn't progress as well.

My last grow (which was using an LED), I had roughly 200PPM out of 800PPM being cal mag...keeping in mind an LED seems to drive a plant to using more cal mag. It can be a hard balance to find (and is something I stumble on), especially when some strains crave it more then others.

My first grow had the buds pressed against HPS glass in the hood. Just keep a fan pointed at the tops to help keep them cooler and you'll be fine. Worse case, you may get a bit of bud bleaching- nothing too much to be overly worried about.

Wise words.
I have 2 fans inside to move air and running proudly 250w Hps but i will upgrade to led's at some point.

I am interested to build my own led, i really could use help with this if you know anyone who has built or has been working with DIY LED's with 2020-> tech. Inside.

There are plenty of DIYers for LED on the forum. Two members that jump to mind are bluter and nunyabiz. If you decide to buy an LED at any point our sponsors offer members discounts, and I'd give ViparSpectra and Mars Hydro a good look over for some great low cost LEDs.

Hey can you look at the photo? its Ww auto and do you have any soil grower tips?

Looks great, seriously bases loaded with Babe Ruth at bat on this one. I do see some heat light stress with the leaf serrations doing the up taco, other than that looks groovy as a hippie chick in a mini skirt
Thanks man.

I can lower the soil plant about 40cm
(it is on top of an old wine box + few books)
