Addiction

You know... They say Marijuana isnt physically addictive... And I REALLY do not want to prove that statement wrong... But I've been going through a really shitty past 4 days. It's only been FOUR DAYS....

I cant sleep
My body hurts
I feel drained
Loss of appitite (sp?)
Lack of motivation

Can you still experience withdrawal symptoms with something thats "non addictive" (at least physical symptoms)??????

Oh trust me I'm not quitting..No way no how.. I just havent been able to get my hands on any bud for these past few days. Depression might be a factor... My grandpa decided that he didnt want to "live" on life support, and he died over the weekend, but in some sense I was sorta of happy to know his pain and suffering was over, and that he was in a better place. So I dont know whats going on, but I really hope it ends soon.

As for cgslim... If depression is beside the point... Your answer makes 100% sense, and I could definetly agree with that.

you better smoke some weed then

You can become dependant on cannabis, not necessarily full blown addicted but you can get some minor withdrawl symptoms if you use it very often and then suddenly stop.

Yesterday I finally picked up some more bud. Unforchunatly all I could get my hands on was some middies... I'll be waiting for those kind buds though.

It was my first time smoking (really good quality) mids yesterday, and the taste was horrid compared to what I have been used to.

I dont know if something was in that bud... Or if it was the first "body high" weed i've got in a while, but I was trippin' so hard... Harder than when I smoke really good weed... Maybe something was in it? I dont know... My guy would have told me something like that... He just kept saying "Yeah man your gonna be suprised... These mids are flame as hell" Was he implying something? Hahaha.

Either way... I was trippin, and I dont much care for it like that. I thought someone was grabbing my neck, and it was the hood of my jacket.

Marijuana isn't physicially addictive, like you stated, but it may cause a psychological dependence, characterized by a sense of needing the drug, and the sensations it produces, in order to function "normally." In this case, the feelings you describe could be the result of a psychological withdrawal.

I always feel minor withdrawal when i cut back, or stop smoking (aka run out of weed). Like right now, lol....

It's like my jaw is a bit too tight. It's similar to when I used to smoke cigs, and had a nic fit...exactly same feeling although not as severe.

And there's definitely the psychological part for me too...it's generally worse than the physical. But, strangely enough, visiting this site helps with dealing with that. Looking at pics of everyone's grows always makes me feel better....I guess just knowing it's there

did you ever have these problems before you started smoking?

No I didnt.. But it's funny how Marijuana can help with every one of them though. Well... Maybe a LITTLE bit for motivation...

Yeah I know what you mean about visiting the site. It seems like it helps you because you can LOOK and weed, and here peoples stories. THats what I ususally do when i'm budless for the time being.

Dam man, i never really thought weed was addictive. Its not for me atleast, i can stop smoking whenever i want ... but i do it for the pure satisfaction that pot brings me lol. cigarettes are real addictive for me .... I meen, im not saying i will ever quit, becaues i wont ... but if i really had to i could, when i dont have pot it sucks, but o well.

When you smoke weed does it help your addiction with nicotine? I always wondered that.

Marijuana is not physically addictive. It doesn't inhibit or induce the production of any chemical over short or long term periods. It works on stimulation.

The only addiction that you can get, is a mental one. You may become mentally addicted to the feeling of being high. But this is solely mental and it's deep rooted in something else.

Not for me, everytime i blaze i always have to light a ciggarette up right after, its just something ive done for a long time. I tried quiting smoking and started chewing, just not for me. I always smoke newports, there cheap up here, like 27 a carton on the rez. But yea, if you dont smoke cigarettes, dont start .. Just keep smoking weed!

Thats a good question! I know that for me it would be a coin.......On one side, if I could legeally smoke pot where ever I wanted with in normal smoking bans. I would never smoke tobbaco again and it would definitely be easier to quit my tobbaco habit.

But on the other side of the coin. Smoking pot when I am working legeal or not would never happen, it's hard enough to do my job as it is without being stoned, but I cherish my smoke breaks when I actually get to take one.

Is there a tastie Bud Light..........all the taste but none of the high?

Yeah.. I never got into that, and i'm pretty sure I wont. I'm one of those "I only smoke weed. Alcohol is bad, and tobacco is bad dont do those" kinds of people... You know? Kinda maybe... haha. Then people are like "wait are you kidding? Marijuana is sooooooooo bad for you blah blah (puffin' a cig).

You could try online "legal buds".... Lol....But I think most taste like shit. I wonder if (if they're really there) buds on a hemp plant taste like bud... But no TCH?!?!

P.S... I'm stoned as shit off of the densest (sp?) buds i've ever felt with my own two hands. A 1/4 looks like a skimped 8th (and it really was 7.5 G's)

EDIT: Yeah i'm pretty sure hemp plants dont have "TCH" in them.. If you caught that little TYPO ^^^Right up there. Take a look if you didnt.....

...
.....
.......
Ok Thats it then.

I go w/ this take on the subject, add the death of yout grandpa, perhaps some pre-existing depression or anxiety disorder that your mj use had been making tolerable.....there you have an explanation of your current feelings. Best of luck and my thoughts are with you......

that sounds like depression, which has been said to be a negative after effect of smoking....

Not a side effect. Marijuana is a natural anti-depressent. Those who smoke regularly may not even know that they have depression. They only feel it when they stop smoking and their medicine runs out.

I've always felt this way.

...kinda like cold medecine. You never know how bad you'd feel if you didn't take it.

First few days of quiting generally suck, at the end of the first week I have no problem not smoking.
