Ok dokey . I’m not a big fan of perpetual threads because I Like to read journeys from start to finish and never know where to jump in so I thought I’d start a new journal

Here an auto GG4
A photo feminized green crack
A soil clone from a cotton Candy Kush) babe
All are about 6-7 weeks veg

I have already learned :
Soil is not my fortay
Autos are boring

My first question to soil growers ..
I get how and when to water .. but do you pour off the run off?
Or do you let the plants absorb it ?
Fabric pot right now so it wicks pretty good but her forever home will be a slightly bigger plastic pot and I don’t get it , yet . TIA!!

Hey Northern I'll sub in for this one. My first grow on 420 was the Green Crack from CKS. It was a nice plant and some very nice smoke I think you will like it.

As far as your question don't let the pot sit in the run off the whole point of watering to run off is to flush out some of the salts that collect in the soil over time.

I use these pot elevators for my plants in fabric pots. I put the elevator inside of a saucer and all the run off falls through the elevator and collects in the saucers the water will usually evaporate off before you have to water again.

Hp pro mix ..and GH for soil nutes ..not ideal nutes in hindsight but I Didn't know any better when I bought them and I don't want to waste it would rather have gone with a part a , part b , no confusion feed haha

Good choice Pro Mix is forgiving as long as you have a good wet dry cycle the plants will do great. I know you said you were planning on using plastic pots when you transplant I would recommend sticking with fabric the roots can breathe much better in fabric and will use up the water quicker which means more wet dry cycles which equals faster growth.

I hear ya on not wanting to buy extra nutes if you don't have to anything to save a few bucks with this hobby is definitely a good thing

One last thing it's not necessary to ph your nutes with Pro Mix. I used to do that then In the Shed said it's not necessary I've done it for the last 2 runs with good results.

Welcome Doc! Stay tunned eh? My first 2 beans in soil were a disaster so I've Stuck with hydro. This is my third soil attempt with a clone in prep for an outdoor summer grow in autopots that I can hopefully leave to their own devises ..luckily I have 2 backup hydro plants if it's another epic fail Hahahaha

Gg4 auto is getting switched to bloom nutes as is green crack ..

the auto (gg4) is going to have to deal with 12/12 because I’m going to try to spiral the cotton candy kush clone in the 4x2 on 16/8 by herself . Her mom liked being alone and I have a funny feeling she does too.

I got one of those thingys for drainage ! Thanks @N420 !!

Promix is great @Northern Hydro . I used it for years. I know some say you can't overwater it but I saw alot better results completely drying the soil before the next watering or feeding. I'm sure you're going to do great with it.
So, you have a 4x2 and 4x4? Wow,awesome.
I like the idea of the Auto gg4 in the 4x2 and keep Vegging the green crack and Cotton Candy?
All your plants look great and that Green crack is a monster. Great job
