A herm or not a herm this is the question

Hope someone can help me I have two to three weeks left of flower and I noticed a bit of my top bud that has no trichomes on it so a little worried it's a nana. Never experienced or seen them before in person so hope you would have a look, here's a couple of the clearest pictures.

Thanks for looking ✌🏼

Looking great bro!
Are you are talking right in the middle of the bud? Looks like a smaller leaf that curled under.
Cheers bud
Thanks, yeah I thought it might be a leaf but didn't want to risk it. 👊🏽

I don't see any nanners. I just harvested a hermie last month (see my Photon Follies journal) that I thought about chopping but I'm very glad I didn't with it's 4.6oz yield. There's seeds but few and far between, so to speak.

That's a small leaflet, at first I got confused too, but nah...You got a really nice looking female plant.
Thanks mate appreciate it 👊🏽

Thanks bud I'll have a look, my second attempt to grow so like to be prepared for these things or know best I can what I'm looking for 👍🏽

The biggest concern is allowing any pollen into your indoor grow. It can be a lot of work cleaning up after a plant drops pollen. Being like fine dust, it gets into everything, and the more air circulation you have, the more it gets spread around and the harder it becomes to eliminate. I suppose if you sell your weed, seeds could decrease it's value as well. Any seeds you get from a hermie will probably also hermie and you have to sort the males from the females. All good reasons to cut hermies down if you don't need the stash...

That’s not a hermie then that’s normal. Hermie is when it stops growing buds and grows seeds instead

I disagree. Seeds follow what is called pollination. Hermaphrodism (hermie) in plants is the display of male flowers on a female plant or the display of female flowers on a predominantly male plant. Go look it up.

If you got a few seeds here and there that’s not a hermie. Those are feminized seeds. Keep them. Don’t go buy more feminized seeds of the same strain

The seeds from the recently harvested plant (see my Photon Follies journal) are all going to, in all probability, hermaphrodize just like momma did. There are better cultivars out there...
Not to mention I already almost smoked one of the little bugger seeds. POP!

Unless chemically induced (Gibberellic acid or colloidal Silver) a self pollinating female seed will in all likelihood produce plants that have a tendency to hermi, You can google ( how to make Feminized seeds at home) the article by grow weed easy is a good one,, But there are several

My understanding was that if a plant hermies without any stressor, so genetically, then those seeds will carry that hermie trait. However, if the hermie was caused by a light leak or something, then any seeds created will be like feminised ones made by reversing a female and collecting the pollen to polinate another female and won't necessarily be more likely to hermie. I read it recently and it surprised me. I can't remember where I read it now but I remember it was a reliable source so I didn't dismiss it. My last grow I had a light leak and most of the plants popped a few balls out. I fixed the light leak and pulled the nanners I could find. Since harvest I've found a couple of seeds in the odd bud. I'm saving them and will grow them out one day.
