some C&P from my introductory post:
------------------------------------------
hello friends!
I'm obviously new here...
i have just finished the 5th week of flowering my first legal medical grow which unfortunately seems to have gotten a dusting of pollen..
i live in southern Ontario, Canada. and have a license to grow 37 indoor and 10 outdoor....
i have 2 female donors of "The True OG" which could be suspects in this hermi hunt... i have a feminized "white Widow" donor that hasnt been budded yet... i have a feminized "Afgan Kush" donor that has also not been bud tested yet...and finally i have 6 seedlings of "Angry Hulk IBL" regular (non feminized) that i am hoping to sex and harvest clones from before the outdoor season.. these are all in my 2x4x5 tent under 18/6 hrs of light from 8 T5 tubes running the length (4') (oh Yea, i cant forget my small pot of basil, which smells great and will help keep pests away.. tatstes great too)

My 5x5x6 tent is running an ebb and flow table under a 1000/750/600W HPS at the moment i use mostly 600W and an occasional 750W "sunny day". the table holds 25 plants which are "The True OG" and "Andys Bag-seed Kush" (Andys has been budded out many times and was never a hermi before) they grow in 4" rockwool cubes (i let them get a little too tall).. it is currently ended the 5th week of the flowering cycle.. and just today noticed the seeding in my upper most flowers and mostly in 1 corner of the tent... Oh Well! :( ...
i have time to fill the tale with 25 one more time before i shut down and go outside.. i have some descisions to make as to which of my donor will be filling out the table since there are suspected hermis present..
Anyways its great to be here and youll be seeing more of the Groovey one soon

---------------------------------UPDATE-------------------------------------------------

i FOUND THE CULPRIT!!! Ive been starring at the crop top to bottom for a few days now and found what i hope is the single culprit :)
this crop is %50/50 of True OG and Andy's-bagseed all started from clones.. I would expect that half of my crop would turn out to be hermis'.,, but that hasn't happened... just this 1 banana that was right near where i always reach in and work from...

on only one branch of this plant/clone there where bananas hanging tightly just below each chubby bud site.. the other branches where of coarse pollinated and seedy, but no sign of naners of other male parts..

the next post in this journal will be a request for assistance in determining what deficiencies or problems i am currently experiencing...
i will give you guys more info on my lighting, nutes, temps, etc.. i just have to get it all together in front of me first..
Be back soon!! :)

(the are also two other plants that wherent worth saving as donors 1 white widow, and 1 afgan kush feminized seed in there)

i was advised against the Cal-Mag while so far int my flower cycle.. so ill keep up the flush for another couple days then feed lightly for one more week before the final 2 week flush (is that long enough in rockwool or too long?)

I'm in the middle of week #5... i will feed at about 400ppm and PH around 6.0-6.1 for week #6 then flush for weeks 7 & 8.. this is the tentative plan anyways ;) i am open to any guidance tho' ;)

Here is a quick video of my garden setup for Y'all ;)... might take a bit for the HD versions to get processed

fack Yea Brother (or Sister)!!

I know its an in complete journal, but i DO have photos n video from basically the start till now... LOL i tend to snap a few shots everyday... i guess i'm chronic in more than one way LOL...

i DID stress them in the early days of their initial clonehood ... i was over watering and had made a change in nutes to a root stimulator.... and they HATED it!! i took bad advice on that one... so it was likely that part of it's/their lives that made it happen.. hopefully thats gonna be the only one now... the seeding wasn't too bad now that Ive been inspecting them

here is a "Rando"m album from earliest till now.. it has a bunch of autoflowers i had started out with and a few different unorganized stages of the tent ;) as well as a few i had outside last summer

small tragedy this morning ..
woke up to n light... ballast dead... changed its fuse, tried different bulb, tried different hood/socket... its dead.
i ordered a replacement of the same type (vivosun 1000W dimmable) $130CDN i had a $25 gift card so $100...
its a 5 month old light rig so ive put in a message to Vivosun about replacement repair (3yr warranty), so in the long run after its all done i'll have a spare one of everything for next time...

new ballast doesn't come in till Tuesday (today be Friday) i have a 4 foot 4 tube T5 in there with my buddies CHEAP-ass 250W LED rig set at about %60 (cuz it likes to burn)... it aint much, but at least they'll know what time of day it is till i get the replacement set up..

VivoSun support got back to me and asked for a photo of the barcode on the ballast... so thats promising.. and on a Saturday no less..
The one i ordered and paid for should be here by Tuesday (s far ;) )
plants seem to be doing OK with the weak emergency setup... i'll feel better when they're back t getting full wattage again :)

Well good news all around...
1 - the ballast that i ordered to replace this one arrived today... so she's all hooked up and operational...

2 - Vivosun got back to me and offered either a replacement or a refund for the burnt ballast... i chose a replacement so that i will always have a spare rig on hand when needed (so now i'll have 2 new 1000W ballasts)

3 - while doing some inspecting and cleaning up... i found the cause of the ballast burnout in the first place..... it was NOT the fault of the ballast (although i'll still take that replacement.. i didnt know what follows until today)...

The connections to the mogul socket where over heated, melted and cracked to pieces causing a dangerous short.. :( :( i have it repaired and am running the "cool tube" constantly at low speed to keep this area cooled..

Since this is an ebb and flow system, i took a garden pressure sprayer with the spray nozzle taken off so i get a nice fat stream. i just refilled the sprayer from the reservoir each time... I used this to hit of all the cubes from the top with fresh PH'd water, hoping to drive any built up salts out of the cubes and get them ready for 2 weeks of flushing (starts today) before harvest..

(Q: am i flushing too early for plants in rockwool?)

This sprayer (magic wand) is also what i use in the smaller tent... makes it easy to water all the pots without moving any of them

a little arduino project i use to monitor my tent climates... soon I'll add actual control options for fans and heaters, but this is it for now ;)

Well that’s badass. I want it lol. How hard was it to figure out and make work? I’m not going to stop thinking about it now haha.

NodeMCU wifi micro processor unit

DHT11 temp/humidity sensor (buy more than 1, they hate getting sprayed with water

install "arduino IDE" software..
sign up at "Blynk"

then use these instructions

ialso have a copy of the "sketch" you can just fill in your WiFi info and Blyk credentials into it then flash it to the NodeMCU (its one of a BUNCH of different kinds of WiFi enabled micro-processors that can be programmed with arduino)
You can also buy these components in bundles... just poke around ebay and amazon and you find the exact items Ive listed

--- with this gear and a couple of relays you could actually use it to control fans, heaters, servos, lights,etc... it's very cool stuff and actually being supplied and taught in many schools... its relatively easy to learn... plenty out there on Youtube and such... i learned just enough to fake it, and after some trial and error can swipe code from 2 or 3 different sketches to make my own.... or... just find what i want that someone else has already worked out and shared

I had a look at the ladies with the microscope today and all the trichomes are looking nice n cloudy ;).. I ordered one of those cheap USB microscopes that should show up this week so hopefully it works as advertised and we'll get some show-off shots ;) I like me a hard hitting inda-couch effect, so i'll see if we cant get a little bit of red/rusty colored glue on there too ;)
its a first for me, using a scope to check trichomes for ripeness... no internet of access to cool $16 microscopes that i knew of back then (late 80's-90's) ;) but it seems like a simple and accurate sign to check for :)

I have about 8 more days till i hit the 8 week flowering mark, and everybody has been flushing for almost a week now... So since i was bored we took some bud-porn shots... nt the hugest or the stickiest i suppose... but im happy for my first try in 25 years and really my 4-5 try at flowering them out ;)

unplugged the heater that runs in this tent during the dark hours... i expect the temps to dip to the mid to lower 60's (F) .. hoping for that pretty purple effect and otherwise just experimenting a little :)
