Every month, Scott Durrah, chef/owner of 8 Rivers at 1550 Blake Street, hosts a Cooking with Cannabis class at the restaurant, which is conveniently located just two blocks from Apothecary of Colorado, the dispensary he and his wife, Wanda James, opened at the end of 2009. After students learn how to make dishes that are not only delicious but healing, they can head up to 1730 Blake Street and stock up on supplies.
At this Saturday's class, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a very special student: CNBC, which will be filming a segment of its series Marijuana Inc. James and Durrah are no strangers to national media attention: They were also featured in the recent Daily Show segment, and while James was not identified, she did get licked by reporter/comedian Jason Jones.
For info on the class, call 303-296-5566.
