420 Magazine's Nug of the Month: August 2012

We are now accepting nominations for the Nug of the Month contest.

Please submit a photo of your best nug (there is a separate contest thread for plants.) The nug must be your own, either purchased or grown. Optionally, we'd love to hear about the strain, taste, aroma, potency, effect, weight or any other frosty details that you're willing to share.

The contest will be open for submissions from the 1st through the 15th day of each month. Once all submissions are in, we will begin voting for a winner. Winners are announced on the 1st of each month.

Winners earn 100 rep points, "Plant of the Month" title, a case of RAW Rolling Papers from HBI International, 12 Pack of King Size Cones and a 420 Magazine Nug Jar!

Blue Planet Nutrients contributes all of the following items to our winner.

1. Contest entries must be original photos of your own nug. The nug photo may include several nugs or a cola. This nug may be grown by yourself or purchased at a legal medical Marijuana co-op, collective or dispensary.

2. Entries must include ONLY photos of the nug. But you may add one photo as a reference point for size or a closeup/macro.

3. Maximum of two photos per member. Updating photos throughout the month is not allowed.

4. Remember to upload your photo through our Photo Gallery before posting it on this thread.

5. Nugs must be "dry" and in "ready to smoke" form.

6. Self-nominations only.

7. Competition is open to the first 25 entries.

8. Promotion (i.e. campaigning) for yourself or a friend, may disqualify the entry.

9. Any attempt at voting more than one time per person (i.e. multiple user names, etc.) or cheating in any other form will result in a permanent disqualification from all future contests.

10. Prize packages are sent to legal MMJ states only.

Here is a smoke ready entry. I wish everyone well in this months competition.

My entry is a Moby Dick. This bud weighs 2.6 grams. I grew it in soil by myself. I let it flower for 55 days. The smoke is very strong. It has both a head high and body high. The smell of the bud is a skunky sweet smell. It has been curing for about 6 weeks.

I didn't really like that bud anyways lol. Very floral and nice size but the taste is piny and very bud. The high is good.

She ain't purple cause she's summergrown. Temps were in the 80s. She's silvery limegreen with a really strong punch. I like her alot. Stayed a lil on the loose side but each bud weighed over 5 grams after a 4 week cure. Taste is amazing. Thanks for lookin out bro.

so im re entering this cream caramel that i was late trying to enter last month sadly as good as it looks in the photo it looks so amazing in person,it has the aroma of a freshly opened box of fruity pebbles with a hint of chocolate,the smoke is thick syrupy and smooth with a knock down power built for a pacaderm its snuggle down in bed to a movie and fade away to wake feeling rested with no hangover an epic night time smoke one of the best i have ever had grown by yours truely in coco hempy fed bpn organics 8 weeks start to finish and decent yeild this nug was rock solid at 11 grams highly recommended

Took a Mojo bud, took my hash oil and soaked the bud. Then rolled it in dried mojo dry ice hash.
One small toke off a this and your toast.

Dispensary: Alpenglow Botanicals
Location: Breckenridge, CO

This was the first time I had ever purchased Blueberry believe it or not. I had seen it in the dispensaries before, but always passed it up. This time the nugs looked and smelled way to proper to be denied. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I can smell this herb as soon as I walk into my house. I'm now aware as to why this strain is so legendary.

My hat goes off to all the other entries. I have great respect for you all. Sorry this entry is not bud that I grew.

Strain: Unsure--We got seeds from friend of friend and were told it was a "Kush" seed. Guy was baked out of his mind so I'm surprised we got even that much. From research into how plant looks and smokes I'm guessing something in the AK/AK47 lineage. This bud if from the Indica leaning pheno. We have 3-4 more from this seed pack that is more mixed or Sativa leaning. Will enter those later .

This is my 2nd run ever . Switched to BPN part way into grow and they saved me from me. The Earth Juice is a good nute system, but I'm happier with the BPN, it's just easier and cheaper to use, and seems to benefit the plants more as well. Win, win, win .

Anyway, this is the larger bud off the plant. Only 4.2gm, but for how much I messed up, this plant did well in spite of me. This is my first entry, so I don't expect to win, but I just like to compete in different areas of my life and figure you gotta start somewhere .

Smoke report: (copied for my BPN review thread)
It looks like it was dipped in sugar. Trichomes everywhere, so awesome. Since it looked so dank I wanted to see if it would pass that test of 2-3 hits in the bowl and see where I'm at. Initial head rush/numbness within 3-5 minutes, followed shortly after with a chest numbness and sense of peace and relaxation. I can sure see why people describe couch lock with some strains. I don't think I'd call it a one hit wonder, but you'll definitely feel it after 1-2 hits, and 3 puts it into outer space heights. Our old stuff was good, damm good esp our 7 plant. This stuff beats it easily. WOW.

It's been a long time since I've had such a mellow and couch locking high. Very nice on the pallet. A bit immature as it hasn't cured, but it has a skunky, sweet, and moderate taste of coffee or chocolate, I can't place it yet. I'm guessing something in the Afgan Kush family, I'm dying to find out now by research what she is. All of our plants look different. Some are similar and I'm guessing phenotypes within same genetic line, but several are way different and I'm guessing some nice choices from the original buyer.
