400w hps

So ive got a 400w hps in a 0.8x0.8x1.6m grow tent, ventilation is amazing i manage to keep temperature at a nice 25C, i was just wondering is a 400w hps big enough to get some decent yeilds? Like atleast a couple of oz's per plant? Or will i need to get a 600-1000w hps? Only be flowering max 3 plants at a time.

400 watts is sufficient to cover the area. However, saying you will get X amount of return is impossible to know. There are so many variable that change everything, strains, length of time vegged, amount of CO2, water quality, nutrients provided, style of growing, training of the plants, the list goes on and on.

does it matter how soon i put my 4oow hps on my autoflowers while there in the veg state.

Sorry i should of been more specific, there is alot of variables, i guess what i ment was do people generally get ok yields with a 400w hps? Given they enviroments are ok? Or do people generally head straight for the bigger hps's ?

I use a 400w hps in a 90cm by 90cm by 180cm tent...

As many have said their are variables in yield & here's some eye candy to what it may achieve
