Officers with the Tarrant County Narcotics Unit raided a home Thursday evening and uncovered the largest indoor marijuana farm the city has seen in years, officials said.

The bust was the third of its kind in Tarrant County this year, and police are working toward making an arrest, said Herschel Tebay, commander of the unit.

Officers in the unit's northeast sector watched the house at 6344 Sunny Brook Lane for about three weeks until they got probable cause for a search warrant, Tebay said. No one was inside during the raid, but officers found an air mattress and 400 marijuana plants 5 to 6 feet tall dispersed throughout three rooms.

"There were lots of grow lights and sophistication," Tebay said.

In the attic, police found 10 pounds of Hydro, an expensive form of marijuana with a much higher concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol -- the active chemical in marijuana.

The street value of the seized drugs is more than $600,000, making it the second-largest indoor bust in Tarrant County this year, Tebay said. The largest was in a home in east Fort Worth where 740 plants were discovered.

Tebay said police have a suspect in mind. Records show that the owner of the house is deceased, and police will be checking out relatives, he said.

I vote that we let them keep their jobs, and send them to patrol their local donut shops with their newly discovered free time if that's their true concern.

Bribery, what a concept. :smokin:
