Oregon - Police recently arrested several people in south Newberg after reports of suspicious behavior led them to the discovery of a small marijuana growing operation.

Officers from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department executed a search warrant Jan. 7 at 802 E. Ninth St. Apt. 903. In the residence, the officers allegedly found 13 people and about three ounces of marijuana, as well as 10 marijuana plants.

"We weren't expecting that many people," Lt. Jeff Kosmicki said.

All 13 people were interviewed and released.

Four were later arrested after the investigation was complete.

Timothy Alan Dawson, 18, of Newberg, was charged with unlawful manufacture and delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, unlawful possession of marijuana and frequenting a place where controlled substances are being used. He is being held in the Yamhill County jail on $55,000 bail.

Chase Valen Peterson, 19; Cindy Nicole LeMasters, 20; and Sarah Kendyl Worley, 18, all of Newberg, were charged with frequenting a place where controlled substances are being used.

All three were cited to appear in Yamhill County Circuit Court.
