The Border Patrol says four men from Mexico are in custody after they were caught attempting to smuggle marijuana through the desert east of Gila Bend.
Agents were patrolling Sunday when they discovered footprints and began tracking the men. Eventually, the agents caught up with the men and uncovered four backpacks containing less than 100 pounds of pot with a street value of nearly $46,000. The men are facing federal drug charges.
