3 x Indoor LED - 3 x Outdoor - Unknown Strains

It's been a busy year here and after taking some time off growing I have started a new grow.. As I've only been keeping photos over the past few weeks, this post will be a quick update to where I am followed by more posts as I go along..

Same setup as before for the indoor plants as I did on the Purple Kush Grow but this time all are unknown seeds.

I started the seeds the same way and planted in the same mix of soil as the PK. Fox Farm Ocean and Happy Frog. I didn't have the same amount of Perlite as before but the water drains great so wasn't to worried.

Planted in solo cups on 06-20-2016
Followed by 3 plants planted outside on 07-03-2016 and
3 into Smart Pots Indoor Tent on 07-07-2016

For the indoor plants, I water every 2days, followed by a feeding of General Hydro every other watering. I am doing an Aggressive Growth ratio (started with one feeding of the mild ratio)

So far there have been no problems or defs. you will notice however the yellow leaves on a few photos early on.. I had to travel for a week so I wasn't able to water for 9days.. so they had a mild drought.. but they survived and all is good.
I've been LST and topping as needed.. I will install the scrog in the next week or two.. I want to make sure I have the base right before adding that in.

The outdoor plants I have on a watering sked of every other day with a soaker hose and if it rains.. I also am giving them a Aggressive growth feeding once a week when I see them. I also have topped them a few times.. If I get anything from these outdoor plants I'll be amazed.. I planted them just to see if it's even possible. and so far.. they're looking decent.

The only issue I'm worried about now is them showing their sex.. Hoping for Girls! As this is a mass update, I'll put all photos together so you can see the progression over the past month. Enjoy! Comments / suggestions are always welcomed.

total of 6 plants.. 3 indoor 3 outdoor.. All different seeds.. AFAIK they could all be different strains.. but that adds to the fun of it ;)

Today I put in the SCROG support over the plants. They're not the height I want yet, but the base is the size I can live with. Now to watch them grow upwards. Once they all reach the ropes I'll give a good defol of the underside. I've been trimming the leaves to allow more light to the inners but that's about it.

For the watering today I did 4g of 6.5ph and 20ml of Calmag, 7ml of Silicon. The PPM in was 473. You can see the RO water in this photo

0810161407.jpg

The RO PPM was 854 : 629 : 905. You can certainly see the difference in the water color..
For the conditions in the tent.. it's usually around 50% humidity and 74-79°F. I also have 2 filters running, pulling through one into the fan and pushed out another one. I had 2 filters so I figured why not, as 1 wasn't cutting it.

For photos, in case you're wondering how I get such crisp colors and not the PINK/BLUE look..

Update on the outside plants.. I'm not really sure what to do with them other than let them grow. ;) one is much smaller I'm guessing because of the lack of sun. but here's some photos of them.

Today was Feeding day.. first a watering of lil under 4g of PHdCalMagSil water.
RO water was - Right to Left ppm 731 :: 539 :: 616
Feeding was a ppm of 1660 RO Right to Left - 840 :: 656 :: 638

They're also growing nicely.. 2 have already started reaching through the scrog =) I'm also very glad there are no fungal gnats this go around.. not sure if it was the stuff I added to the soil or if it's due to the soil being so old and dry from the first bag. either way, no complaints!

Outdoor plants are... well.. here they are.. they're nice size, but can def tell one is not getting enough light.

Watering today.. Water PPM in was 451 RO was R-L 666 :: 450 :: 611

Did a defol as well.. mainly just the bigger fan leaves to make room inside for new growth. I'm now going into week 6. I'm not really paying to much attention to veg timing on this one.. I want to have a nice canopy and then I'll switch over to flower. I've quite a lot of PK still left over from my first grow so no real rush on this one =)

I'll give some updated photos later in the week of the outside plants when I see them. But for now.. here are some of the tent.

I did another Feeding tonight.. I also added 5ml more of bloom as I'm going to transition over to bloom on sunday.

watered with 456ppm RO was 614/583/666 followed up with a 1740ppm feeding and RO of 688/615/580

Here's an updated shot.

As I peeped inside today.. I figured a good defol would set things right ;) So that's exactly what happened..

I should have some updated outside plant shots lil later.

Today was a regular watering and I installed the full cross section in the scrog. I'll let them go till Sunday then I'll switch them over to flower mode.

Flower time.

Tonight I am going to switch from 5am-11pm to 9am to 9pm for the lights. I also raised the lights a few inches and did a full Flower Feeding. Another change would be I ran out of CalMag so I switched over to a new type. GH CALiMAGic with a 1-0-0 when my original was a 2-0-0.. hopefully this doesn't cause any issues.
Water in 624 and RO was 577 / 712 / 61.
Feeding was 1710 and RO 820 / 718 / 730

It's scroggin' time! :thumb: looks very promising, let the fun begin. Keep up the good work and...

KiG :green_heart:cheers

Ps. I doubt that calmag difference will make any difference, I like GO Calmag+ that's 0-0-0. That way there's no nitrogen during flower feedings. Imo.

good to know.. I never really looked at the NPK of the CalMag until I noticed I had ordered a diff brand. Now I have a G of the 1-0-0 ;p when I get through this I'll look into the GOCM 0-0-0

thanks!

Normal watering again today.. Nothing special happening other than they're growing and filling in the screen.. I'm pull them farther and father out as I can.. none of them have really showed their sex yet.. so here's hoping for 3 Females.
PPM in 601 RO 748 / 751 / 770 I'll feed at the end of the week.

Here's some updated shots of the outdoor plants.. From what I see all three are males.. but they really haven't truely shown their sex yet.. Neither has the indoor ones.. I'm hoping all three indoor are F.. the outside ones can be whatever they want ;P they were just for fun anyway. If I can make seeds from them, that'd be a ok by me.

Feeding day! I gave a full Bloom feeding ( 10ml Micro /5ml Grow / 15ml Bloom ) after a good water/flushing
ppm IN 587 out was 734 / 664 / 741 Feeding was a 1777 in and 811 / 735 / 749 out. They're filling in nicely.. not as nice as The PK, but look good to me.. Next grow I'm going to do some things different and I may venture into a Top Drip Hydro method. Watering is fun, but I'm kinda over having to do it every two days ;P I also can't seem to find any good grow journals detailing setups on Hydro so I figure I'll go into detail like I did with the PK .. but that's a few months away! Here's some updated shots

Tonights update will be a double day update.. I didn't have time Sat to pop on here.. so first lets do Sat. I did a normal watering with 613ppm in 856 / 732 / 824 out. here's a view of that

0827161944b.jpg

Today I did a 1/2/3 bloom feeding after the watering. ppm in 567 out is 798/808/840
I almost skipped feeding today as those numbers are a little high for my liking but I am dangerous.. so feeding it was! ppm in 1610 RO was 844 / 788 / 771. Which to me looks a ok..

I also have been looking into upgrading equipment and I ran across these grow glasses @ $25, these glasses do just what one would want.. but I only got them to see if the Method 7's really are worth the $79 (69 now) I spent on them.. and Yes, they are. The quality is much better so I'll be donating the Zotron's to a friend.

here they are together..

And a shot of today's view with each

You can certainly tell the diff (M7 is the lower)

I also have some flowers beginning on these gals. wewt!

And! the outside plants are starting to flower too!
IMG957318.jpg

Color me shocked =) I'll get some better photos this week of them.

Along with all this, I also am investing in a PAR meter. Before I upgrade to Hydro, I want to know if these 300w Apollo's need some upgrading as well. Seeing as I got a decent yield with my PK's I know there is PAR.. I just want to know how much ;) I'll share the results as always.

When I redid this scrog net adding in the center support I didn't really think about the center pipe covering the plant.. Today I cut it out. I also trimmed off some of the fan leaves to allow more light through.. The plant on the right is the only one showing white pistils.. so hopefully the other two will catch up.

I just ordered a new LED. I was looking at the California Lightworks Solar System 550.. but the I just couldn't see spending $950 on an LED right now.. so this $420 (snicker) will do for now.. It's got a 30day return policy but has all 5star reviews so I'm hoping this will be better for bloom than these Apollo's are.

An update from yesterday / today. I did a watering yesterday with the usual results. Here's some updated photos.

Also some updated shots from the outside plants. 2 of which are doing incredibly well.. one not so much. If they do like they look they should produce a nice amount.

The new light came and not sure I'm feeling it. One it's effing heavy which I knew would be.. but dang, if it were to fall it'd destroy the plants and probably fall into the basement (well not really) . I have several straps holding it up and some backup straps just in case. But more to the point I'm just not sure it's covering the entire space like the three LEDs I had before.. I have my LUX meter and it's bright as @#@# in the middle but the outside not so much. The specs says it covers 4'x4' area but from what I see it's more like a 2'x3'.

My PAR/light meter will be here next week so I'll see what that has to say about coverage. The light pulls 282watts and 2.46Amps @ 116.7V. Being as I can't go over a certain amp pull in this place, I can't add in 2 more LED's to cover.. here's some shots of the light / installed.

Today is a good ol feeding.. Water in 630ppm and RO was 820/760/804 and feeding was 1660 with RO 824/722/779 Along with the feeding.. I decided to raise the LED up as far as I could with the connectors I have.. it's 21" up above the canopy now.. the stretch is in effect too.. more so the ones on the Right and Left.. the middle gal is just hanging out. I can't tuck any more so they'll just have to reaaaach! =) the plant on the left also started to show some white pistils.. onward they go!

I'll update with some outside shots if they show any major changes.. but it's been cloudy here.. and seeing as we have a hurricane coming.. hopefully they make it through!
