24 hour dark period before flowering

I'm trying to get people's thoughts on if you need to stay dark for 24-48 hours before going to 12/12 light schedule?

Some people swear by it , I've tried it and went back to just going right into 12/12 . I did not notice any difference worthy of wasting a day or two of time.
