The Oakland thing is saying that ONLY the big 4 will be able to supply the Dispensaries, and that any other grow, except personal only...will be illegal-- At least that is how I am understanding it--

If I am wrong, will someone pls clarify??

So much for 215 not being effected and this is before prop 19 is even passed.

I hope some of you are getting it now... This big ganjapharma are not your friends nor do they care about you. But they want us to back their money making prop19!

Taxation is not legalization!

Decriminalization is!

I've heard so many things against Prop 19 from MMJ users that are just NOT true. I even heard just the other day that "only licensed dispensaries" will be allowed to sell ...

Prop 19 does nothing to the existing laws for Medical Marijuana. The term "dispensary" is not contained in the proposition.

Essentially it means that cannabis prohobition is over! I envision every bar in town applying for a license to sell, every farmer with a few acres applying for a grow permit, etc.

The problem as I see it isn't to convince your local government to support the proposition but instead to push them to set-up laws and licensing as soon as it passes! Push your local government to have the laws written and ready to go by Nov. 3rd.

Do you own a bar, club or some other adult establishment? You're going to want to get your license as soon as you can. But, you're also going to want some assurance from the local sheriff that the DEA won't come in and bust your patrons while they're legally enjoying a little cannabis ... prop 19 isn't just about legalizing cannabis. It's about starting a whole new industry, about filling our government treasuries again and it's about states rights over the feds.

What you're talking about is Oakland's new large-scale industrial marijuana cultivation policy. It has nothing to do with Prop 19. Plus, the new policy doesn't affect the small growers, so why the paranoia? And ... Oakland has a backlog of applicants - approaching 200 - so obviously there are many "business people" out there who think that the new policy is a moneymaking proposition. Either way, it's no reason to continue the prohabition of cannibus.

Yes! Things will change with the passage of Prop 19. But, just because you may not be the one who profits (financially) from it's passage is no reason to oppose it. And, just because Oakland has jumped on the "band wagon" first with a new policy for regulation and taxation doesn't mean that it's the "only" choice. Get involved with your local politicians and make sure that your city doesn't set it's fees as high as a major metropolitan city here in California. I bet you could get a county ordinace passed in some of our smaller (less populated) areas for far less then what Oakland is going to charge.

YES!!! ON PROP 19 !!!!!
