1st DWC/Hempy Harlequin Joe - Pot of Gold - NYSD - BB - ATF '13

:nomo::popcorn::popcorn::goodjob:

Well, it may have been delayed a day or two, but I'm taking my girl on a forest walk along the beach and cliffs in the Fjords that connect the Puget Sound. Be back later and if we get back in time before the girls go down, I'll take a couple pictures. They all seem to be handling it fine so far.

I do have to repot that first Harlequin Jo clone that's in the ladybug hempy, she's more than outgrown it... didn't count, but guessing 3 - 4 new nodes... so time to make another hempy and start training her... She'll probably become the mother, most likely.

I did lose 2 of the seedling clones to what looked like tamping off... I was careful and there was no wilting in the leaves, but the stem at the hole in the rapid rooter went soft and gooey on those 2. Not sure why, maybe they were just a bit too weak? Not sure. I need to get a heating pad for the clones maybe... it does get down to the low 60s in there at night.

sometimes if you do more than very lightly abrade the stem it can cause then to rot & fall over, i barely drag the blade on only 2 sides that way i know they will stay upright, and on soft cuttings i often dont scrape just a slight split in the bottom of the stem,i prefer the woodier shorter cuts for clones they seem to handle the scraping and such better, but so far i have had success with cloning about any plant part if treated right, sometimes you can recut the stem above the mush to a healthy part and reinsert just depends on the cut

Just got back.... thanks BID... I think in this case, fail # 1 was actually from the bubble cloner experiment that I already mentioned, the no collar issue... I moved the first topping of a seedling from there to rapidrooters after a few days as it wasn't looking good. The second fail, I don't know... the area I abraided lightly and split actually looked fine, it was the area right around the rapid rooter hole. I'm thinking it may have been weak because of how much those seedlings stretched when I was out of town while they popped under the T5 back at the beginning... or maybe this is just one of "those" strains, lol.

Today's pics, post defoliation... I also got the first HJ clone into it's own hempy, short 2L with cocoa pearlite mix.

Here we go:

The cloning chamber after removing the 2 bad seedling tops:

The topped seedlings recovering and shooting out new branches:

The Ladybug hempy temporary holding for clones from the bubble cloner, getting overcrowder by Harlequin Jo clone, so...
it got it's own home, HJ#2 (Clone 1) in it's own Coco/Pearlite hempy... if she continues to thrive, she'll be a mother plant soon :)

Here's the EmGarden shots. I figured out if I put some paper (grocery sack unfolded) over the mylar, the pics come out much better :)

And now, some budlings, putting on some crystals after their trim :)

None of the girls seem to have taken any real harm from my defoliation. I know there are more crystals now than last night when I closed them up, so that's good. I will be interesting to see how the grow now going forward :)

Thanks Rico... it takes a lot of the glare off the pics... which brings them closer to being correct... I can't wait to see where they go in the next few weeks... and I am psyched that the first Harlequin Jo clone took off like it did. It starts bondage and discipline training within the next week or so, lol :) If it works out, that will be the Harlequin Jo mom for my grows :) With my fibromyalgia, I will always do my best to keep high CDB strains in my grows... for the migraines too, but really good indica can help with most migraines, indica AND high CDB helps more for Fibromyalgia at night and just lots of high CDB for daytime use, or mostly CDB with some sativa dom blended in. At least so far in my (very) personal experiments on myself.

i'll have to teach you how to feminize seeds my way, i find blue and reds make good back drop colors and of course black! but the brown is nice too, good job, they look good!:high-five: i have a silk sheet hung in my shop in case i find a plant worthy of a special photoshoot, its black,i have a tripod and lights with difusion filters (diy) all ready, but my damn cam broke in the move here from the old place,it was a really nice p&s 14'1mp polaroid, the real irker is its just the ledscreen thats broke, im gonna get a nice bridge cam next nikon makes a few in the 100$ range, then my pix will go back to their former glory of 10-12 months ago

Thanks BID and ouch, I understand that... a previous ex ended up with my nice camera so now all I have is a 4 year old point and shoot... but it works more or less as long as I don't want close up macro shots. Next time around it will be easier since I don't plan on the plants being in a fixed, multi-plant per unit setup like they are now with the emily's garden. That should make things much easier... individual containers, lol.

How are you femming seeds BID? I read Granny420's thread (which you joined in on :) ) on colloidal silver, which I will be getting some of. I also have read a few threads and outside articles on letting a few branches keep flowering until female pollen sacks form. Is there another method aside from things like gibrelic (sp?) acid and such?

Question for anyone who has input. I have a couple of seedlings that are in veg now, well 1 veg on desk and 1 flower in cab. The both still have full cotaldyn leaves. Anyone else seen this before? All my other seedlings ate their cots as they were entering veg, these 2, the cots are still green, full, not ill at all. Just thought it was odd.

That just means you fed them before they were starving. No harm. I typically wait until I see them get smaller, or the 3rd real node, which ever happens first. :)

Your plants look great. Starting to get frosty.

Thanks Hiker... been a few bad days health wise, so I haven't been updating... just checked on the girls and they are getting frosty and yeah, when I moved the seedlings into the flower area, I started giving weak 1/4 strength flower nutes and when the seedlings on the desk started going into veg, they all started getting 1/4 strength veg nutes, so that makes sense. It's funny though, the one in flower still has most of those leaves, even with all the flowering starting to develop... just funny looking.

Pretty much none of the tops took as clones, but they were leggy and weak from early stretch, that said, non of the other clones from flower are starting to wilt, so fingers are crossed there. I just topped the first Harlequin Jo clone, which did survive the transplant and is growing. Time to start training that one for a mother. All the topped seedlings have their new branches, so they'll be ready for training and more topping withing the next week or so.

My PH dipped real low yesterday while I was immobile, but I did catch it before they went to bed last night and today they are a LOT more crystal covered... yummm. Will be checking the PH again here in a couple hours. Another few weeks and I should have some more lighting and more room as well, which will be nice. The seedlings will need it by then and hopefully the new clones will be in veg by then as well :)

Sweet, I thought you were talking about CS... I read the thread granny did (what happened to her? I liked her threads and journals). I plan on doing the CS as well, but like you, budget minded, so it will have to wait a couple months I think... not 100% sure. I need to focus on lights and tent environment, then CS, bubble bags, etc. I am thinking about trying a DIY airpot... you have a couple of those going don't you?

But yeah, I want the CS so I can try getting some decent auto pollen as well for outdoors in this climate.

Good Weed Rune!
Hope you are feeling better boss:thumb:

Morning rune and a festive 4th to ya. Sorry to hear that you been have problems. Thank goodness for our meds.

i feel you on the bad days, been haveing some of grand purportion lately,i use home made colliodial silver, i have a diy thread on making it somewhere on here, its linked in grannys thread,i have really good results with that method, the cs is super cheap to make, and so far all the seeds ive made & popped have been female and no hermies ,im planning on doing a blue dream & purple power & og kush next

Howdy BID. Even if I haven't used colliodial silver for femming seeds i have used it for years as an antibiotic for myself. Fought off some nasty bugs with it. They have now found that the over use of antibiotics and the bugs building a wall so they don't work as good, that if you use silver with the antibiotics they work like they should. Just another good thing from mother nature.
