17 year Cicada

This is the year for the 17 year cicada in my area

Has anyone grown outdoors during the emergence year?

Did you succeed?

Around what time did you plant?

How big did you grow them before you put them out?


Any tips tricks to protect , I know netting is prob the only way

My plan is root bound them in a solo then put them in the ground and let whatever happens,happen and

Hopefully I end up with some free smoke from mama nature

Every year there are stragglers but there will be a lot of them this year.

Side note if you like top water bass fishing, a splitshot, slip sinker and super glue a hook to one of these bad boys trust me even if you don't like to fish you will have fun fishing with this narly looking bait buzzing on the top of the water

I planted 3 clones sat. And going to put out 8 more between now and Memorial Day
