17 fingered fan leaf. This is...kinda weird.

Well...

Got another freaky fan leaf, this time with 17 fingers...

Anybody else seeing these on their plants?

Anybody got any ideas what's causing this?

Nice. Most I've ever seen was 13. It came from... Laos, I think. Is that from one of your Mexican bagseeds? Might be interesting.

I had plenty of 13's last year, a small number of 14's and 15's.

No. Got these seeds 2 years ago from that dude I mentioned earlier (some crossing thing he was doing up in Oregon).

Haven't had any of the Mexi-weed or seed in 6~7 years. Wish I had kept the seed for safe-keeping.

Having a horrible time locating seeds in general in my area. Only found 2 dispensaries in my area that carry seeds. Not only are the Sativa seeds on the expensive side ($100~150 for 12 seeds...get real) and what they have I don't really want (Jack Herer Haze/Super Silver Haze...3 way cross? No thanks...not doing it for the stone).

I'm not even going to attempt to order seed from overseas. Forget it - been hearing/reading too many scam stories going that route. With the way my luck's been all my life I'm bound to be a loser and not get any seeds at all.

The Medical Marijuana Industrial Complex...what a racket. Probably going to get slapped for writing that, but, it is what it is.

Reckon I'll have to stick with what I've got now for the duration. Maybe I'll get lucky (uh, right ) and bump into someone growing dom or landrace Sativas.

...

mutant gene

odds are if that gene is damaged others are too.

i would not recommend cloning or cross breeding this plant.

Yeah...kinda already figured it was some kind of mutant something.

I'm too wet behind the ears to be doing any crossbreeding. Not really that interested either, especially with these plants. I don't even know what strains they are. Only thing I know is they're some kinda S/I crosses, splits, etc.,

BTW - I certainly appreciate the PM you sent me, but, the link was messed up...mostly just dash marks. Probably cuz I haven't made enough forum posts to warrant the full privileges of PM's. If you could hold off a while till I've got enough posts - I need 50 total and this one only makes 22.:thankyou:

Wow seventeen huh? That's cool. I once. Tossed two clones in one cloned spot and the roots got So tangled so I dropped em into the same bucket. The coolest thing happened .they grew together somehow and became one stem. It was crazy lookin. But cool . As far as blades and number of go, I'm still trying to figure out why each strain grows the number of blades it does.. Like it seems to me , and this is not in anyway scientific , but it seems the really good quality genetics have nine and up. But I could be way off. I'm pretty sure I'm way off

I'd expect to see more "fingers" on a pure sativa than on a mongrel.

I'd expect to see more of them on a healthier plant than one that is not in the best shape.

I could be wrong.

Yeah...same here.

Well, even though I'm still wet behind the ears with growing Cannabis, I can assure you that my plants are very healthy.

I've got a number of pics in the Gallery of them.

Fact...here. Took this pic about an hour ago:

...keep it alive with clones. I would.

Nah. Not my kinda weed.

Grew from the same seeds last year. Seeds were given to me as a hold-me-over. Harvested 'em when the trich's were still milky. Got good cerebral lift but left me feelin kinda heavy and whirly-eyed afterwards.

I got me some Oaxacan Eldorado seeds coming - which is akin to the commercial, over-the-border Sativa Mexicana (brickweed/bagweed) I used to smoke before I got legit - even better actually.

I'll say, lol. If it clouds up too much, those beasties just might uproot themselves and go looking for a tanning booth;).

Digging the avatar picture. You must just have a "familiar face," but... You wouldn't happen to have some hardware in you that a surgeon installed thanks to a bad motorcycle wreck ages ago by chance?

I've got one of Nirvana's Royal Flush - its an F1 hybrid of an Eldorado from Oaxaca and a Jock Horror. I'm hoping it will rekindle memories of a pure Oaxaca strain I encountered for the first time 20some years ago (and for the last time about five years later). Talk about something that could drag your brain out your nostrils, dribble it up and down the court, slam-dunk it a few times, and then divvy it up & pour each half back in through your ears:adore:. My brother left a roach lying around in a too-visible location, so I answered the call and picked it up before anyone else saw it. When I told him, he said, "Just a roach? Go ahead, waste yourself." (He rolled Louisville Sluggers...) So there I was, on my way to the nearest patch of woods to get there with nature as a backdrop, cut through the lot of an old schoolhouse, and ran into a buddy. I felt like sharing, so I asked if he wanted to burn a bug. So we stopped right there, hopped up a couple of steps, and leaned against the wall. Three or four hits (each) later this bigass meat-eater looking bird came screeching down from out of the sky and zoomed past about a foot over my shoulder. I just had enough functioning brain cells to realize that there was NO way that could have happened - if for no other reason, the fact that I was up against a 35' high stone wall clued me in - when my buddy said, "Wow, man, did you see that bird? Wait... Where did it go?!?" We tripped so hard on that one of us dropped the remainder of the bug (it was still there the next day) and we wandered off, spacing, but every couple minutes we'd start scanning the skies with our shoulders hunched up around our ears:rofl:. Later I realized that without the built-in "smoke enough and you'll fall asleep" influence of indica in the genetics, it seemed like there was no "plateau" where you couldn't get higher by smoking a little more. Which might have been my last coherent(?) memory of that summer. (<SHRUGS> It was a long time ago, before I discovered the medicinal aspects of cannabis.)

Was Mexican genetics - but definitely not "commercial." When I later saw it in a sack, it was more brown than green and I thought surely it wasn't the same stuff (it was, and a lid was expensive but worth it).

So... I'm hoping that there's at least a shadow of those genetics in the RF.

Ramblin' again, lol.

Yeah. Thought a goofy avatar would bring a few smiles and giggles.

No hardware. Had a few crunches and slides on the bikes in my time - rompin around up in the mountains and valleys where I grew up. Nothin too major except for 2 broken feet - just recent like, and I got those on the city streets here - people not seeing me and practically running me over.

Most of the time the brick-bag weed, well...you'd never think it was commercially grown cuz it was like some really kind stuff - not primo, but still choice. I mean I used to frequently take a dime/penny-sized chunk of bud and let it seep in my mouth for a while - it was that good.

Before I started using Cannabis - I had my hang-ups about it. Went through listening to the sheriff's "anti-drug" bit in school (wasn't as extensive in my time as it is today...but we did have it). I had a number of people offer it to me in my high school days, but I turned it down. But, I just decided to give it a try one day. Next thing I know, I'm using it on a regular basis, thinkin "Where the hell was this wonderful medicine when I was younger...", going through all the problems that I had and taking all that useless junk the doctors were prescribing.

Pretty wild story dude. I aint got nothing that fancy. Spent much of my blazin alone. Lots of times I was just diggin on nature - hangin out with the Horned Toads and Rattlesnakes (they're kinda friendly once you get to know them...especially the Rattlesnakes), maybe howlin with the Coyotes at night, tryin to touch the Moon and stars. Or, coulda just been kickin back at home with my cats (I love cats).

This is kinda like a continuation of the paragraph proceeding the one directly above - on the "medicinal" side, ya know...? I eventually got into better eating habits, meditation and self-therapy (massage and accu-pressure).

So... I'm hoping that there's at least a shadow of those genetics in the RF

Should be. Both the Eldorado and Sativa Mexicana have been the backbone of many good strains for years. If they've kept to their claims about the backcrossing to maintain the landrace genetics then neither one of us should be disappointed.

Ramblin' again, lol.

:icon_roll :) ;)

I came here to post this Odd DNA stuff. I've got 1 plant with giant 1 fingers, some with 3 fingers, and two stems fused together with 3 fingers on one side and 6 fingers on the other. ??? This is not supposed to be possible. Supposed to be that you can double over the DNA with Coltrasine or Gamma Radiation to make 10 fingers. How are they causing these??? I got the seeds from an everyday source in KY, I don't like all this playing GOD.

Two stems fused is absolutly possible, I had two clones in one bucket cuz thr roots grew together, it was very coollooking, you.could clearly see it was two dif stems...
