    Yes, be a sponge and read as many articles, journals, etc as possible. Watch videos. Start out on inexpensive seeds and make your mistakes on them, then switch to more expensive ones. There have been massive technology changes that make growing indoors better than ever so read up on lighting, new methods, etc. Do not start out using deep water culture style hydroponics. It's like handing a 16 year old the keys to a race car and saying good luck, dont die! Maybe hand him keys to a Corolla instead, in growing terms that could mean coco coir and a simple feeding program under a nice LED panel. Invest in odor control. This plant has a powerful smell that penetrates through windows, walls, air fresheners, etc.
    Quality carbon filter/fan setup is a must. Even if you're in a legal state and aren't concerned about johnny law, you don't want to advertise your garden to vandals and thieves
