- Do you use Cannabis for Medicinal Purposes?
- Yes
Cannabis (Kaneh Bohs) in the Hebrew Bible:
In Hebrew, cannabis is called "kaneh bohs" or "kaneh bohsem" (קנה־בשׂם). This means, "fragrant cane" or "very fragrant cane" respectively. Some people think it is a perfect linguistic match.
Genesis 1:29 tells us that ALL plants bearing seeds after their own kinds are lawful for human consumption. (Rather, it is alcohol that is regulated.) So tell your rabbi or your pastor or your priest, the Bible says cannabis is NOT regulated!
The priestly anointing oil of Exodus 30:23 requires "two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane [kaneh bohs-em]."
In Isaiah 43:24, the Creator Yahweh (Jehovah) accuses His people Israel of NOT buying His priests any of the good sweet bud: "You have bought Me [i.e., My priests] no sweet cane with money..."
In Jeremiah 6:20, Yahweh asks His people Israel why they bother bringing Him cane [kaneh] from a far country (because they are ignoring everything else He says to do).
And in Ezekiel 27:19, we are told that the tribe of Dan traded kaneh [fragrant cane], so we know it was used widely in ancient times.
Further, archaeologists have shown that cannabis was used in the Temple in Jerusalem in ancient times.
And the biggest hit of all: Daniel 9:25 says the Messiah arrived in 3786 HRT / 26CE (and Daniel 9:26 specifies that He had to be cut off just before the end of the Second Temple Period)--and since Messiah was Jewish, He would have believed all of the above (and would not have had a problem with it).
