    Hi MR S ! I have to learn how you do these nute calculations. But first to do that I have to know what a plant actually needs at different stages of growth. I've always hated Science so it's complicated for me. But I loved math so that should help some.
    I'd sure like to know how to determine the NPK values I should be using. But, I think you have to know what each Macro & Micro Nutrient does in order to calculate it & I'm lost there. Is my assumption correct ?
    I read a lot of stuff like the needing 60 ppm of N in Veg. Well, how do you know how much N is 60 ppm in the first place so you can add the correct amount. I see nothing saying 60 ppm = 1 ml. of N.... or something to that nature. Do you just add a drop at a time till it adds 60 ppm to the mix ? Seems I get more confused every time I try to figure it out.
    Got any suggestions on things I can read to better understand how all this works ?
    Those last plants you gave me calculations for has been my best weed in 4 years. I want that to happen every time. Keep in mind I'm a beginner at this & pretty dumb when it comes to plant biology. In school I thought of it as growing flowers & what man wants to grow flowers unless he's kind of on the feminine side ? But now that it pertains to weed I'm highly interested.
    So if you could lead me to a good starting point I'd sure appreciate it. Something that tells me what the plant needs when & how much of it would be great.
    Do I need to study each ingredient that's listed on the bottles ?

    Everyone most likely has a different way of determining what a plant needs at certain stages of growth. It all comes down to ratios, imo, and as long as you increase your N accordingly during the plant cycles then the rest of the calculations follow along.
    I tend to follow the N ppm that MC uses in their calculator. As an example, if 5g/gal was to = 160 ppm of N, then I know right away what my other macro nutrients need to be at. I also know that my secondary nutrients need to follow a certain ratio, such as 4.2.1 of K.Ca.Mg.

    Reading this post, you'll find the following recommendations for cannabis:
    10 parts Nitrogen
    1 to 2 parts Phosphorus
    10 parts Potassium
    5 parts Calcium
    2 to 3 parts Magnesium
    1 to 3 parts Sulfur
    The micronutrients are important and most can be found in tap water(get a water report) but if you don't use it then of course you need to add those which most ferts carry enough of anyhow.

    Knowing that, I see that K and N are roughly the same. The ratio never changes from veg through flower, only the amounts given.
    Since the K.Ca.Mg ratio is 4.2.1 then I know at 5.5g my K has to be around 160 ppm as well, since that is what my N is at (10 parts N, to 10 parts K)
    So, that means my Ca has to come in around 80 ppm and my Mg at 40 ppm, giving that 4.2.1 ratio.

    In order to determine the PPM levels you need to use a program that has the formulas already built into it, such as HydroBuddy. There are formulas out there to read, but way too complex for most of us to get past line 1.

    Some cut the bottom of the net off when it's dry to allow the roots from tangling up. You should start a grow journal if you haven't already and post some pics. I can follow along as with others who'll be able to guide you along if you need help. There's nothing wrong in starting off in jiffy pellets. They will not cause your seeds to NOT germinate.

      How to use Re-chargeable Moisture Absorber

      This re-chargeable moisture absorber is designed to absorb moisture in a closed container or dry box. It can be simply re-charged and re-used again.

      Power Consumption : 16W AC110V-240V Moisture Indicator : Blue = Dry ; Pink = Wet

      Caution:

      * This product is not water resistant. Please keep it away from rain or wet areas.

      * Do not place the Absorber in a closed container while charging as the unit will heat up.

      * Only charge the Absorber in a well ventilated environment.

      * Do not charge the absorber over 3 hours or overnight to avoid overheating the unit

      Operation Instruction:

      Step 1: Insert the power cable to the Absorber and connect the power cable to main AC power point. Red LED indicator will light up while charging. It will take about 2-3 hours to charge and dry up the silica gels.

      Step2: Once the silica gels changed from pink to blue colour, Unplug the power cable and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes to cool down.

      Step 3: Place the Absorber into the dry box or container to absorb the moisture. Do not connect the Absorber to power point while using the unit.

      Step 4: (In the future) Repeat step 1 & 2 to re-charge the Absorber once the silicate beads become pink colour.

      Step 5: Put the absorber into your dry box with your camera gear. Monitor for humidity between 45-55% and redry as necessary to maintain the humidity.

    I hadn't seen it before... but I never had the need to look for something like that either. Looks pretty cool. There is another product that may interest you. Do a search on the herbsnow dryer. Simple to use and I hear it works pretty good.
