Sorry i didn't get back sooner - i just cut off the bag today as it had done the job. So, it took about 6 weeks from 12/12 to make pollen.
As soon as you identify a male, take off all flowering branches but one, and bag that one. Be really careful about tape around the window - scotch tape is too cheap and didn't stick well enough as i had gaps! Get strapping tape or something!
