In this photo these plants are vegging under a Sun Blaze 44 T5 lamp which is a 4x T5 lamp purchased at my local hydroponic store. I believe in purchasing local products as opposed to the internet if possible. Also, when I bought the light, the local medical marijuana dispensary gave me 7 grams of the dankest weed for free because they have a partnership with the hydro shop. So not only did I get a light, I also got some great buds for free when I mentioned I bought it. The Compact flourescent (sp?) bulbs were purchased at the electrical section of a local hardware store. I purchased several light socket splitters and daisy chained them to the hanging lamp. I use mostly lights with a lot of blue in the spectrum and also some warm yellow lights to balance it out and add some extra spectrum. I would not recommend vegging using strictly CFL because the T5 + CFL get's the plants big very very fast. A plant can be vegged to 18 in 4 or 5 weeks no problem depending on the strain The T5 is on hooks and can be raised up and down via these light hangers also purchased at the local hydroponic store for about 20 bucks. The T5 was 159.99 and I don't have a figure on all the CFLs ad most of that stuff was scavenged from stuff I already had. These bare bulbs help a lot with under canopy side lighting but leaves have a tendency of growing into them so you have to keep an eye on them constantly.
