OK let talk about molasses! Is it a good ieda?

I run a dwc and some grow around my area been using Molasses. Those that told me that all grow in dirt. But my thing is that the molasses might not break down in water. I use carbload and bud candy want to get wet betty.
So what are you or guys thought on molasses?
