newbie with a question on trimming

High all. Just joined the community and wanted to say high to my fellow botanists.. question. Is it okay to trim a plant that is in the flowering stage? There is a lot of mixed reviews on that subject and was looking for some direction. She is real pretty and id like to keep her that way.. lol...
