if you haven't done so already, buy a ph pen.

for soil grows you will want your waters ph to be 6.5

Keep temps at about 68 at night and 78 during the day. Don't over water. Let it dry out and then really soak it a couple times so you get the idea how heavy the pot is. When it's light, it will need water.

Don't buy a pH pen. It's not needed in soil and adding all the phosphoric acid won't help your soil.

If you really wanted to splurge, buy some Osmocote and use that alone for food. Just water the plant, the Osmocote prills do the rest. You'll harvest above average, good quality produce if you do that.

No.....try to read directions on the bag/bottle. Usually, the dose is something like 2 tablespoons per gallon. No rush to get it. Your soil has quite a bit of fertilizer in it already. Just use water for a while and then add the Osmocote.

ohkee thanks for the advice! i will be updating my grow.

Hey Miracle grow potting mix already has Osmocote in it. It is just a time released fertilizer. It's been used since the 70's. If you look closely at your miracle Grow mix you will see what look like little golden colored balls. Thats it. They gradually adsorb water until they burst. If you grab one you can pop it between your fingers.
I'm going to be keeping up with this grow so if I can help, let me know. I am getting ready to do my first auto also. From my research I have found that the initial root develo[ement, which is always important in any grow is even more so with autos. I also learned that they do better in a lighter mix like a miracle grow so you should be good there. I have also found out that a 16-18/ 24 hr light schedule is considered optimum by most breeders. Pack in as many lumens as possible especially early in the life cycle to keep them from becoming spindly and prolonging the growth cycle. It may delay the growth a little but I plan on pinching mine at about your stage of growth to try to encourage a four to 6 prong plant. If you pinch out the tip to the first node you will break what is known as apical dominance and the plamnt will begin to grow out the nodes below. Looks good, just keep doing what you are doing and best of luck!

You maybe a little late now I believe that I see a flower pistil in your photo. She is already starting to preflower. But, do you see the 2 nodes there in your photo. If you were to pinch the top both of them would begin to grow once apical dominance was interrupted. Since it's your first grow just let her go now. I think that it would benefit you in your learning curve just to see how she naturally progresses from here. Just remember it for next time and you can add substantially to your yield. Proper pruning and different low stress training techniques can result in more weight of number 1 buds at harvest.
