Can compost be designer made?

:green_heart: I'm trying to find out if it's possible to design a compost based on particular items put in to obtain an intended result. The question for the above average intelligence that makes up the 420 community is; Can I put just fruit into a compost pile and get a compost that will transfer the scents and flavors that the fruit possessed before breaking down and becoming nutrient rich compost ? Not the exact fruit flavors, but a more pronounced difference in the smell and the taste of the girls grown in it, due to the chemical attributes of the fruit in the compost. Anyone who has a thought is welcome to invade this discussion.

I looked it up out of curiosity. We (GreenChrome and I) haven't done a compost pile yet, though we have been considering starting one, either with a pile in the yard or with worm bins.

According to greenliving.nationalgeographic.com, using solely fruit for your compost is favorable. They are high-nitrogen, and add a great balance to the high-carbon of your dry products like leaves. They are going to cause a considerable increase in the moisture level of the compost, to which you are going to want to use a high-carbon material with good absorption (leaves, sawdust, etc).

I'm not sure if using fruit only will affect the smell and taste, as the material is decomposed. I do believe the nutrients gained from using the compost will have a positive effect on the plants, and it's organic.

Thank you for your response. I am currently very into organic growing and use compost considerably in my grows. I make my own manure compost using the droppings of various animals to get a broader range of nutrients. I like the results. I do a 5x5 ft. area at a friends farm. I have space for another 5x5 area and was considering doing a fruit and sealife compost. My research did not give me the answer to my question. Hoped someone her had more info or a site where I could research myself. so once again :thanks: and :welldone:.
