Why would this New Little bud, grow out of the top of this mature bud?

they kinda look like a deformed seed pod. is it on all of the plants or is it isolated to only a 1 or 2. are they all the same strain?

Here is the plant, just when I thought is was done, the tops of the buds are EXPLODING w/new bud growth. Please give your opinion on the pic showing "red" building towards the round part of my trichs, ever seen this? im thinkin cold weather? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
