Last Posting was back in August. I had thought to start putting my thoughts here to help plan out the stages of making my grow room.
AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!
oh well...
Since then I've had two harvest. First was over five z's, and the second was just short five, but with half the plants. I'm now in the third and should harvest in two weeks or so. Though this harvest will be smaller yet.
I've had two sets of two very cold weeks this time (more than usual for here), and the growth of the plants shows it. I didn't get the aquarium heater in until the end of the second week. And I started seeing growth spurts in the buds about a week later.
I've also got a second tub in the flower closet, from vegged clones three weeks old. They have been there for about three weeks now, and are doing ok. They should of been bigger, as I had been vegg'n for only two weeks. But I let them go another week because they were so small.
The last month I've been spending on researching on automating the closets. My basic ideal is to use a microcontroller such as the Arduino. I'll start with just checking temperature and humidity. Something very easy for it do. To keep from having to put a computer into the closet's or even in the room, I'll add an ethernet card to it.
After that I'll see if I can add pH, TDS, water temp., and power control. All should be fairly easy, if I can find the time to play.
I'll start first making sure the base pieces I'll need are fully compatible with each other. Order the Arduino, bread board, Ethenet card and some wires and parts. Hopefully have everything in and ready to start by late February.
