Hey All
I did a grow journal a few years back, and have been crossbreeding since and thought I'd post the results.
The background is as follows:
Plants in soil only.
All plants outside, undercover, in pots.
Fully organic grow.
Neem oil periodically, up until early flowering.
The original grow was Jack Herer, Warlock and Diesel, of which the Warlock was my favourite. Not necessarily the strongest, but a great uplifting, positive high, and never any couch lock. I love the Jack Herer too, but it was almost too cerebral and clear headed, to give that weird 'Jesus and I actually stoned or not?' query. Until you tried to do anything complex, that is. Then you realise - 'yep, I'm completely ripped'. That said, the JH high is incredibly long, so that two hours later you'd still get euphoric rushes. The Diesel was good pungent bud, but too heavy for my taste.
Above is the cross of the JH and the Warlock, which I was super happy with. You get that uplifting Warlock happy with more longevity to the high. The other thing is the turpentines - the Warlock had the most wonderful, floral perfume I've ever smelled, and in this cross you get the piney notes from the JH combining with this sweet perfume, and it's LOVELY. The buds aren't huge, as they're outdoor and the climate here is a challenge, but I'm only growing for myself, and have a no-selling policy, and have more than I can smoke (I give away a good dose though!).
I've crossed the Warlock and the Diesel as well. Interesting that the Diesel seems to be dominating at this stage, with the aroma that telling Diesel funk. This plant still has a way to go - maybe six weeks or more - so I may have to finish it inside.
This last shot is curiosity value - a runt that I'm wondering about. This plant is a Candy Kush auto, and it's been in for over three months. I'm curious about it. I've grown a few of these already, and they went pretty well, but I'm not sure if this is a genetic runt, or if, going in later in the growing season, it hasn't reacted well to the conditions, but it's a pathetic specimen. I've crossed it with some JH/W pollen, just to see.
One observation is that the plants seem finish more quickly in an outdoor environment. Indoor, it seems that the decrease in temp variable (and ?) means that you can keep them in flower, putting on weight, for longer. They stretch far more too, presumably, again, a result of the day/night temp fluctuation.
