I posted this to Facebook earlier today... today was a good one.
Let me tell you a little story...
About 20 years ago, just after the movie "Robin Hood Men In Tights" came out, a mother of 4 wonderful and precocious children had to take a flight somewhere for work. The whole family escorted the mom to the airport, as was their custom. This particular day, however, was one that would live in the mom's memory forever...
This was back in the 90's, so TSA and horrible security check lines were not as bad as they are today, but still, when it takes the mom 3 tries to get thru the metal detector because she forgot about the Walkman in her back pocket... you can imagine how tense the air was getting with passengers waiting in line behind her.
As she went thru the detector for the third time, one could just feel the impatience roiling of the people behind her. But her youngest son came to her rescue. At 11-12 years old, having just recently seen the above-mentioned movie, he pops off (amid the quiet, impatient crowd) and says, "Don't worry, mom! It's just your chastity belt!"
Everyone heard it and went into stunned silence. Mom's ears burned with embarrassment. Sure enough, an anonymous manly voice from the crowd finally broke the tension and said, "Go ahead, mom! We'll let you smack him!"
It did indeed break the tension, and everyone laughed, the mom included. What else could she do?
Fast-forward 20 years and the now 31 year old youngest son is now being taken to the airport for his first plane ride to visit friends... The last thing mom said to her son as he headed for the terminal..., "Son, you didn't forget to pack your chastity belt, did you?" very loudly.
Yes, that mom was me! And today, I got a good dose of MOM-REVENGE!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!
