Sorry guys, wrong thread.

Let's try this instead. :battingeyelashes:

THE LAST BATCH

We knew it would come to this at some point. What a poignant moment though.

I've been experimenting with making the brownies more bioavailible. I knew I was going to run out before I was done experimenting, but I learned a couple tricks and I've incorporated it into the process. My brownie-making recipe has changed significantly.

I learned the value of lecithin, which increases the bioavailability of everything you add it to, so why wouldn't I add it to the oil I was using for baking? Edibles are one of the most limited pathways for bioavaibility, offering only around a 6% return. Tweak the process a little and you can increase that way beyond 50%, which is a worthy goal IMHO. Claims are made that you can make edibles almost as effectively bioavailible as intravenous. I'm hoping that pans out. :laughtwo:

Without testing readily available one is only guessing at what we're really getting though, aren't we? I had this mad vision today of being able to have each plant or the concentrates of each plant tested at a reasonable cost. Just think of the value of that simple freedom.

Anyway, I was thinking it might be nice to share my latest recipe. Here we go....

Start with 8 grams of dried, cured, decarboxilated and powdered plant material. I decarb at 225 degrees F for 30 minutes, in an oven bag to control odor and protect the vapors. The pan, in the bag, goes into the freezer for an hour as soon as it's cool enough to further settle the vapors. Don't need all those valuable components drifting away when you open the bag now, do we?

An interesting side point here. In my wanderings through the early pages of the oil-making thread I've come across an admission by Cajun that he'd produced oil using the whole plant - the whole plant - and it tested superior to oil produced with buds alone. Significantly better. He posted test results. I didn't want that point missed. I'm still running this down, there may be more to it than I've read so far, (sadly, I've only been able to make it 7 pages in - so much to notate!) but every time I consider the implications of this I get a little sick to my stomach it excites me so much. We'll touch on this again in the near future. If my suspicions are correct, this will be adjusted in my recipe.

Sorry, I got a bit off track there, didn't I? :laughtwo: Get used to it. Hahaha! I'm headed into a creative stage and you guys are standing right here. LOL!

Start again. 8 grams of bud, prepared. This particular batch includes the powder I got playing around yesterday. It was also decarbed.

Sprinkle on sunflower lecithin. I don't measure, but the recommended ratio is evidentially 1 TBS of lecithin to a cup of oil. I shoot for an instinctive ratio. Sorry, I'm an instinctive cook. I'm kind of an instinctive woman, which I'm sure was often maddening to the man who loved me unconditionally for 35 years. LOL! He said is was one of my charms. Makes me laugh just to type it in. :laughtwo:

Add 1/3 cup of oil. It was recently shared on the cancer protocol thread that olive oil is an excellent carrier for cannabinoids. It's also one of the foods recommended to encourage demethylation. Olive oil is one of those wonder foods that should be part of everyone's diet, at some level. I'm looking forward to dipping bread into cannabis-infused olive oil on a regular basis.

My previous brownies were made with coconut oil, an excellent carrier itself and loaded with nutritional benefits in its own right. I'll be switching between the two in future. This batch I went with olive oil.

Mix it all up, toss it back into the oven bag and close it up. I simply twist it and turn it so the edge of the baking sheet holds it in place. It works.

Into the oven, on the highest shelf setting. Again, 225 degrees F. This time set the timer for 1 hr.

image8364.jpeg

 I forgot to set my phone timer, because I won't hear this with earbuds in, will I? :laughtwo: Good.....I remembered when there was still plenty of time.

image8365.jpeg

When the alarm goes off turn the oven off, pop the door open and let it cool down for about a half hour before you check on it. When it's cool enough, pop it into the freezer for an hour to get those vapors settled.

image8366.jpeg

After that hour, open the bag, stir everything thoroughly, close it back up and toss it in the refrigerator overnight.

image8367.jpeg

In the morning, take it out of the refrigerator, set it on the stove and turn the oven to 350 degrees F. The heat from the oven will melt the oil. This is olive oil. With coconut oil I set the oven to 200 degrees F and set the pan in there on a tray. It only takes a few minutes to turn liquid.

Stir it all up real good.

Ready for brownie making. :yahoo:

The last three days. *Sigh* I'm going to double up that last dose and start the next day off brownie free. I still have a few grams of this or that to tide me for a couple more days. Someday guys.....

It's only a temporary pause. I can learn more about supercharging the recipe, because I know I can make this work better. I'm still fighting upstream looking for guidance, but I'm like a research ferret and about as hard-headed as they come, so by the time I get back to making brownies again they're going to end up SweetSue's Brownie Bombs. You have my word on it. :laughtwo:

Oh yeah...... I had my first one of these tonight, at 6. More than three and a half hours later now and I'm still very delightfully buzzed. Yep, this is getting better and better all the time. Makes me feel good to know I'm also increasing the number of available cannabinoids running through my system working so hard to get me healthy. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Thanks for indulging me guys. This was fun to do. These brownies are giggly. That was unexpected. :laughtwo: I'm pretty sure this batch was 2/3 Carnival. I have to get one to germinate.

I hear you B A R. Yes, I wish I'd listen too. I have access to a Prime account and I'll need the Rockwool for clones at some point, so there's really no reason..... Next order. I promise. They're already in the cart. LOL!

I'm gonna read for a while now. Oh yeah.... food. Geez woman. :laughtwo:
