I stuck it in a container with perlite and water. The perlite is mainly to hold it in place better. The last time I pollinated something it was with a male plant I had culled and thrown out. The next day I had second thoughts and saved a branch of it for pollen. Its flowers hadn't opened yet but I put it in a separate room from my grow and stuck it in a cup of water under a cfl on 12/12 lighting. It stayed alive a couple weeks and I managed to get enough pollen from it to pollinate what I wanted, and then some. It doesn't take a lot of pollen to make a lot of seeds, as I was reminded. (When I ended up with thousands of seeds)
