Swab/saliva test question

I went to an interview today and was told I would be given a swab drug test right in the store. Nobody I know has experience with these so I need some answers from somebody with experience. I smoke a couple grams everyday. I was wondering how long I can wait till I have to quit smoking before the test? I've heard of people cutting it pretty close. If I use mouthwash can will it test for alcohol, or is hydrogen peroxide better to use?

Hello xxtabikatxx,

The swab test is used to test for illicit drugs within the saliva. THC appears within the saliva after 1 hour of ingestion, however all traces disappear from saliva within 12 hours. The swab test is used since it's tough to adulterate the sample, cannot be replaced with another sample and has a fast turnaround time.
