Since I decided to use this approach I started looking for ways to build the interior structure.
I want the interior box to pass through the floor of the cabinet, and be supported, on the concrete, on dampers. Four holes through the interior corners of the cab should do it.
But what do I build it with? I happened to have some heavy duty kitchen-type wire shelving in my basement. I hadn't bothered to look at it, but when I did!.... Surprise! It's a perfect fit. I have about 1/8 all around for interior isolation against the metal "shell" of the cab, and it doesn't touch!
