This is my first outdoor (bag-seed) grow. I honestly preferred purchasing a 600-1000 watt HPS just to speed things up, but due to finances, that just couldn't happen so instead I'm just utilizing the good sunlight I get in my yard.
These are my month and a half old plants I've been growing outdoors under direct sunlight. I can honestly say the only problem I ran into were the bugs preying on my plants, but after purchasing some "Worry Free" vegetable garden bug spray; the problem was solved.
Youngest
Middle (bottom leaves are beginning to die as normal)
Oldest
I started these out all together in one large clay pot full of dirt/mud (due to lack of knowledge on the grow conditions of cannabis.. noob shit, I know.) But after talking to some people that were a bit more experienced in growing than myself, I was pretty much forced to come to terms with everything I was doing was wrong and if I didn't fix it, my plants were going to die. So, after transplanting the babies from the mud "death mix", I went to a hydro shop and got a bag of "Root Organics" Soil, some of their Root Stimulator, PH balance kit, & a couple "Smart Pot" Organic Pots (surprisingly, my middle plant is growing in a regular plastic pot, and seems closer to flowering than the rest of the plants). Anyway, after making that purchase, I just separated all the plants into their own pots and let mother nature handle the rest, and from the looks of them from how the began; I think I may be able to complete the full growth using only sunlight, but IDK!
After 2 months of growing since the hydro shop visit and bumpy start, their looking pretty good though (oldest plant is missing due to the image size) :
The yellow pot are just some more babies I started up..
My biggest question right now is.. If I am in North Texas and I enough direct sunlight most of the day (but not too intense for the plants), could I just use natural lighting throughout veg and flowering stages? I figured all I would have to do is gradually lower the amount of daylight time as I also gradually raise the darkness
Another Question is.. how much further along should I allow my veg stage to last for these if I'm looking to get a decent yield by mid or the end of September? Their all about 1-2 weeks apart in age so I plan to just start them all flowering at once. Here are the new leave coming in between branches
young ZOOM
mid ZOOM (Odd but this plant is showing the quickest maturity)
old ZOOM
I'm really open to any advice or comments, so don't hesitate to help Sensei haha.
Thank You
