Rotation Gardening

Hello and welcome to my next blog post. Today I will be talking about a garden I plan on implementing very soon. It is called rotation gardening and after reading it should be apparent on why it is the choice I will make and possibly some of you. Enjoy

This method doesnt cost a arm and a leg to setup but the electricity costs are moderate. It can be tailored to fit wherever you would like to and the maintenance is low depending on how simple or elaborate you care to make it. Here is what mine will entail.

1 day to start a batch of clones. 1 day 2 weeks later to harvest and rotate the crops. Other then this all you need to do is prune your plants and turn them to ensure even growth and to properly maintain the quality and nutrient level of the water. This garden will use a simple aeration bucket to house a mother which is grown in a 1 gallon container filled with black lava rocks. Clones are rooted in plastic drink cups using rockwool cubes and a mixture of perlite and vermiculite. The plants and clones are stacked on various boxes to adjust the height for even growth so no 1 plant dominates. The flourescents are fixed to the underside of the floral garden and the front of the garden is accessible from a rolled up curtain made of white drop cloth and several layers of black plastic backing.

The floral area is consisted of 2 aeration hydroponic basins the plants are grown in 1 gallon hydroponic containers as the mothers were. A 430 watt hps lamp(or whatever size you would deem) could be mounted as close as 18 inches thanks to aggressive cooling. Most indica strains take 60 days to flower. When the first batch roots fill the other half of the floral garden with a new batch a month after this harvest the first batch and throw in a third batch where the first previously was. Doing it this way you will have a new crop to harvest every 30 days. Since the plants are forced so young they will never be over 20 inches tall at harvest which will save a lot of vertical space. Turn the mother plants and extra leaves into hash butter. You will harvest a quarter pound each month and 2-3 pounds of hash butter. You can tailor this to the plants you prefer and it will take a few harvest to figure out how they ripen and how tall they get so you know when to flower as well as the average amount they will produce this way.
