As I was reading and researching last night, I discovered Bhang tea. I'm not a huge tea fan, but a recipe came up for a chai latte. Interested peaked.
This morning I found the recipe again, and wrote out a modified version. The original recipe calls for 1/2 gram cannabis, 1/2 gram butter, 1 cup whole milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup water and a chai tea bag. I knew I was out of real butter, and out of vanilla, but my throat hurts and I want a latte.
The modified recipe is as follows:
The play by play:
I didn't get any euphoria with the tea, but I did get mild relaxation, and pain relief. For those effects, I prefer tacking as it lasts longer. However, once I have properly harvested, dried and cured cannabis, I might revisit this recipe. I also want to try it with sunflower lecithin at some point.
You don't know unless you try!

The modified recipe is as follows:
- 1/2 gram Cannabis (I used popcorn, still on stems, from an almost mature Bloody Skunk)
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup 10% cream (higher fat content to help THC extraction)
- 1 tbsp EVOO
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp organic cinnamon rooibos chai
- Blend cannabis, milk, cream & olive oil in blender. Move to fridge, and let sit for an hour.
- Add water to a pot, and bring to a low boil. Slowly add milk mixtrue, and allow to simmer/low boil for 30 minutes. You can add more water if you need to. Don't let it burn! -- I used a barista thermometer to monitor the tea's temperature while cooking. Foam started to produce around 200 degrees, and that's what my chai says is the best temperature for brewing, so 200 degrees was my goal point.
- Put mixture and tea leaves into tea infuser. Let sit until tea is steeped. About 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, honey or whatever your heart desires until your tea is how you take it.
- Drink up!
The play by play:
- 11:30am - Began drinking tea. It tastes kind of like cinnamon matcha. I like it.
- 11:45am - Holy crap, it's half gone. Hunting down a lemon buttermilk chicken recipe for dinner tonight... and I can stomach the thought of eating. Maybe I should eat. I have no idea what to eat.
- 11:50am: It's gone. I'm actually kind of sad, it was really good. Right, find food.
- 12:04pm: My headache has faded a bit. I made greek dip with feta chunks and grabbed some cucumbers and peppers to eat.
- 12:18pm: Veggies are finished!!! I feel pretty relaxed over all. Just sitting back and surfing online.
- 12:30pm: Still relaxed, kind of bored. Heading downstairs for a cigarette.
- 1:05pm - Didn't make it downstairs, work e-mailed me and I got lost in reading manuals. Heading downstairs now instead.
- 1:30pm - I didn't notice my muscles loosen up, but they must have because I can feel them getting sorer. Sigh.
