Open your mind, Free it all.

I have been judged for the quality and values I hold in my life - I have been called a hippie, a dreamer, and a gypsy, but because it is a lifestyle that I truly truly believe in, it is not a fashion trend or phase I am going through. With the usage of marijuana I have been exposed to a world of unbelievable possibilities just by being able to open my imagination. I believe that anything you want to achieve you can, no matter how ridiculous someone may say it is or how much money you think it will take. It sounds cliche but the bigger the dreamer you are and the more you try to live those dreams, the happier you will be regardless of if you succeed or fail. It's totally about the journey! Life is so long, we don't realize just how much time we really have to experience it all. Day by day.

It truly is amazing and a blessing but since smoking marijuana (I am an avid user for the last 8 years) I have noticed a complete balance and appreciation for difference in opinions. And it has completely opened my eyes to everything. When you consider another person it gives you a heightened sense of something.. I’m still learning with every person I meet and each one gives a different energy.

I have had skin cancer and have been dealing with anxiety due to a previous incident regarding assault and I began using marijuana more because it really helped, without my knowing. It was more on a subconscious level that I realized it and it has changed my life since accepting myself and others, regardless of their views.

When your health, life, sanity, and security are constantly being challenged it’s easy to take a negative turn towards everything and everyone. You live with a little shadow on your shoulder that tries to resurface your past experiences to protect you, or so it thinks it’s doing.. The only trouble is that sometimes we subconsciously try to over-protect ourselves and forget to take risks and enjoy life like we would if we hadn't lost our innocence. Our defense mechanism can get the best of us. If you're someone who can't let go, often feel anxious, feel like you can’t seem to “shut off” your brain, maybe suffer from a past experience or are just the product of being raised in a society that encourages you to over-think.. just try opening your mind. Wonder why the way things are and make your own set of beliefs. Don't base it on flawed rules and closed-mindedness; everyone is different. We need to learn to respect that because often times they will return the same respect.

*Don't knock it till you try it. Having different views should not be something that separates us. We’re only human and should not feel any “right and wrong” pressures regarding this natural earth-grown plant. For those who can't respect difference in opinion regarding marijuana- have an open mind and heart. Everyone has their reasons for usage and we're all created equal, just trying to make our way in this world. So step off the high-horse and take a look around. We're not hurting anyone.. quite the opposite.

My family continues to judge me for my marijuana practices, seeing it as more a negative movement than positive. They refuse to believe that it might actually help just because of the illegal label bestowed on it. I don’t mind that they 'disagree' but they want me to happy yet judge me when I truly am. It's an argument I'm sure we've all had or tried to make and it can be hard to win. But it’s not about winning; acceptance is what I’m aiming for.
