With a little more research and thought put into my theory and a thread I started in "grow supplies" , there were some retorts made to support the GIANTS "don't ask don't tell" policy.
I have come up with a bit more information as to why the MANUFACTURERS SHOULD allow open discussion on cannabis in grow stores , and the holes in the theory as to why they dont' want the discussion..
First of all, this is a multimillion dollar industry that is just opening up..it will be a multi billion dollar industry if all states become medical. Medical Marijuana is an industry that is only going to get bigger, with MICHIGAN being the 13the state to allow use and to grow medical cannabis. More are on the way!
The earning potential for those in ancillary businesses, such as greenhouse supplies, software or hemp clothing will be significantly higher. There are going to be people who are making millions of dollars, literally..The Michigan Medical Marijuana Chamber of Commerce sprouted up in Ann Arbor in recent months, along with compassion clubs for the 3,000 state-registered patients, 1,100 caregivers and numerous support organizations. This weekend, 5,000 people are expected at Michigan's first Medical Marijuana Expo, which will offer information and seminars on the law, educational opportunities and tools for start-ups.
It's difficult to assess the economic impact of medical marijuana, even in California, where it has been legal since 1996, But the overall marijuana industry in California is estimated to be valued at $14 billion, according to a state report commissioned by Assembly TOm Ammiano. He proposes to legalize marijuana there and tax every ounce $50, so that it can generate $1.38 billion in revenue for California. Meanwhile, Oakland, Calif., last month became the first city in the nation to tax medical marijuana dispensaries.
If medical marijuana takes off like it looks like it's going to, then some people want to be in on it at the early start. Imagine all of the sick people who decide to grow, the caregivers who grow and the dispensaries who have growers to supply, they will all need to purchase NUTRIENTS to grow their own medicine. If you were a medical grower wouldn't you want the best nutreints available for the particular plant you are growing? Well Advanced does just that, as they are well ahead of the game .. but the others say how dare BIG MIKE and AN say they make nutrients for cannabis, nevertheless , ADVERTISE it as so. Well that's where GH and all of the others will miss out, due to their hypocricy, "don't ask don't tell" policy they dictate. what a bunch of crap.
The industry is only going to get bigger and better, and growers will have to choose which nutes they will use... will it be the nutes that dictate "NEVER SAY CANNABIS" or will it be the little guy that says " we make our nutes exclusively for cannabis"? If the bigger guys want in on the "MEDICAL SLICE" then they are going to have to confide that their biggest consumer is the cannabis grower and stop the bullshit policy all around grow stores that get growers thrown out daily. They need to reward the very clientel that supports their "families".. point being if you buy AN, you aint growing tomatoes.. GH and others have bastardized the nutrients industry to the point where it's a conglomerzied monopoly and dictate who and what grow stores sell too.
Last words: to creat cannabis awareness is like having "growing pains", there will be follies, discussions, arguments, etc as the industry grows, then the "concepts" must expands as well, this leads to abolishing "dictatorship" ..such as 420 magazine is trying to create, the awareness of this.. The WHOLE reasone of this place is to create "awareness" and educate the uneducated, and well "OVERGROW THE DAMN GOVERNMENT". Not to succumb to the very dictatorship that rules the country in a backward fashion in which the NUTRIENTS CONGLOMERATES cater to. They don't seem to mind or be AWARE of the cowardness they are dictating and have come to ..
I say let grow shops discuss cannabis, and may all nutrients companies develop their products accordingly, to medical cannabis growers, instead of kneeling down to the very dictatorship we are trying to overgrow in the first place.
Currently I know of a few dispensaries where this policy is obsolete. Perhaps this will be the very avenue that nutrients companies who develop for medical , will be sold. If it ain't the grow store , it will be the dispensaries that will offer nutrients. Mine offers ADVANCED NUTRIENTS, because, AN makes nutes for , medical cannabis. What if the dispensaries decide they will sell nutes, which one will that be and how many dispensaries will there be in the next 5 years... i'm guessing, thousands.
PS : I do not represent AN nor do I sell it.. but I use it to get incredible results for medicine.
