A new hydro hobby. I have a high budget for parts, but would like to keep monthly bills to a minimum, though I am choosing HID anyway. I will take what clones I can get locally, and will prefer sativa. I plan on using the Oxyponics 6 system in a 5x5 tent under an air-cooled 1kw MH/HPS. I expect under a hundred dollar increase in my electric bill during flowering. My local hydro shop carries CO2 tanks, so I'm adding that as well.
As my clones grow, I plan on trying the LST method to increase yield. I've read it's less stressful on plants than FIMming. I'm thinking of it as a screenless alternative to SCROG. Maybe I should mention: this is my first grow.
I'll use a single-bottle nutrient for each cycle (grow/bloom). And thinking ahead, I'm getting a small tent with it's own fan/filter for drying. Right now my parts list comes to about 3.5k, but I'll save that much money in two years if I only grow once a year, plus I'm doubling the quality of my herb!
