Autoflowering cannabis is regular cannabis (photoperiod induced flowering) crossed with ruderalis(time induced flowering). So instead of needing the light period changed to 12/12 light/dark an auto will just start flowering after a few weeks of growing. People like autos because they don't have to worry about having separate grow areas. Just keep everything at 18hours lights on 6 hours off and flower away.

I prefer photoperiod plants because you can clone them and grow them the same year after year. My Twister strain is almost 20 years old. With autos you can't clone, you can only grow from seed. But autos can be fun too. I picked up a few dark devil auto seeds to grow just for fun.
