My first grow/grow box!

Hello fellow Growers!

I recently decided to experiment growing some plants and wanted to do it inside since it is pretty cold where I am. So I used several ideas found on 420 Forums and built (overbuilt?) this one.

The box is 37"Wx22"Dx42"H. It is constructed with 2x4 and 1/2 plywood and is fully insulated.

It has a heating house that will supply heat when the lights are off, a 6" 70-240 CFM and a 250 watt MH/HPS light.

Just waiting for some female friends!

Thanks to 420 Mag and all the post-ers for all the help. Any constructive comments are appreciated.

I will add pictures and notes as I begin my grow in the next few days.

Wish me luck!

Setup humidifier in-line with intake. Humidity was 11-13%. Now 35% or better:

This Lacrosse remote monitoring is pretty nice since my access is 'in the back':

After all this work, we have an arrival on Feb 3:

Thanks INit2WINit. it may end up being a little small but it is good start and, if it works out, I may expand as I have some ideas to 'modularize' this grow system (adding a similar bigger box on the exhaust side using the original for seedlings/cloning while using same heat/exhaust/humidifier). I seem to overdo everything but it is very cold where I live and this makes it easier to control the environment...

These seeds are supposed to grow to 50cm. Royal Queen Critical Feminized (free-Herbies).

Monday celebrated two weeks on my first grow:

I initially started with two seeds and only one made it...

I then started another seed (THC Bomb from Herbies) in water. Waited two days. Created nice tap root, planted in soil, put under light and waited. Waited. And waited some more...

After five days, I gave up waiting and found the seed in soil with still a tap root. For kicks, I re-soaked it (along with a Barney's Pineapple Chunk seed!) and after 48 hours, the tap root grew again (longer).

In most of my germination reading, I read that the soil must not be watered (above and beyond planting in a damp soil) after the seed is planted until it pops through the soil and then only lightly spray water to keep the top ground moist.

Am I mistaking?

I am hoping to bring good news in upcoming posts for the two new seeds.

:peace:

The THC Bomb is not working out. I removed it from the grow area and will just try to handle two... The Barney's Pineapple is doing well as a seedling. The original Royal Critical just BOOMED overnight and is looking really good!

Any comments on LST vs. FIMing?

I decided to scrap the box idea... I built a wall/door in my back building and formed an insulated area. I upgraded to a 3x3 Gorilla tent:

I installed a 6x16 Phresh filter and connected it to 400CFM inline fan on a three speed switch:

I then transplanted my 4 week old and 2.5 week old in 5 gallon buckets:

I topped my 4 week old four days ago. I hope the transplant will not stress it too much.

I tried to find out if my plants were females today. This is my first grow but I believe this is promising:
