There are lots of myths out there about Ladybugs eating Cannabis plants.
They do not eat the plants.
If they are in infestation numbers they are considered a pest because they get into homes and structures looking to winter where they can't be easily controlled. They give off a noxious odor and yellow stains that can wreak havoc indoors.
They ARE a great benefit to your plants. They patrol the leaves and eat just about every tiny critter they find. If you have an issue with thrips, aphids, or spider mites....you need some Lady Bugs! You can buy them for your grow on the internet.
I had an indoor grow where I had an issue with Thrips. I collected a couple dozen of the reported Asian Lady Bugs that were given a bad reputation of being plant eaters and put them on the plants. The thrip problem was resolved and there wasn't a chew mark by a Lady Bug anywhere. They did their job and didn't bother anything else. And never once did one bite me!
Lady Bugs are in a wide array of colors and spot formations. I recently found a black one on my grape leaves:
One in my grow room:
Lady Beetles
Adult lady beetles eat aphids, mites, and mealybugs, and their hungry larvae do even more damage to garden pests. Plant angelica, coreopsis, dill, fennel, and yarrow to attract them.
