Is wire safe to use for lst?

Im in my first grow amd have been using lst. It has worked great. my 55 day old auto lemon haze has 10 colas and i didnt know jack about growing besides germination. Since then i have learned some very helpful tips. Im more curious though about lst. What are some of the different strategies to lst. Im sure your thinking wow this guy should not be doing this but i want to learn and when i do i always get better. Anyway also is it safe to use thin copper wire. I had nothing else amd used it doesnt seem to be affecting it but im just curious. As of now i have two wires at the base of each plant as like a support i was scared to uproot it or something. Then i have another littke lower then the middle of the main stem tied to the edge of the pot and then another toward the top under the main cola. And have about 4 fan leaves pulled back to allow light to get to them but one plant stayed as one main stem while the other split amd is now growing in two different directions due to the way i did the lst. Any advice is welcome.
