I'm aware that this isn't a poetry or personal journal site, however I needed some space to store some of my works. They're some of my older pieces that I'm still actively working on, enhancing for a poetry site. I wanted to get a feel of what alternative minds thought of them...
Here is a piece I have currently titled
"WHY"
Traveling through life, seeking the answers to a so many questions…
Contemplating... Wandering... Wondering...
If this is supposed to be the most civilized of all societies.
...Why then, Does it seem to be our humanity is exacerbating; slowly deteriorating from the inside out?
Why are we concentrating on creating bombs, and methods of world domination, instead of educating and embracing one another?
What ever happened to "thou shall treat each other like thy brother?"
...And why can we never trust one another?
Why are we fighting each other; living within a civilized war?
Why are our veteran's treated as though they are soars to our society; burdens to our economy...
Now, if these questions tweak your mind, really listen to these next few lines...
For,
Why is it that when we see an unfortunate on the streets, we just pass and stare at the can at the bottom of their feet?
Instead of inquiring as to why they are living in misery?
Why is it that we have kids going hungry and living on the streets, and this being in our own country, not some third world country.
And why are we spending billions feeding and building countries, invading and terrorizing ours?
And why are we spending billions on a war on drugs, instead of poverty; when in all actuality it's our poverty that's feeding the drug dealing countries.
Why is it that when politicians debate, they debate about our drug problems, instead of resolutions to the drug problems?
And why is it our politicians are debating about our drug problems, and their the ones that are creating our drug problems?
And now that our drug problems are being introduced to our kids, why don’t we as country stand up against this inhumanity?
Why are we as a community allowing our kids to be taught by the radio and T.V. shows?
And since when do kids know what it takes to become parents, especially when they were raised in the absence of a parent.
And why, instead of spending anything on the education of our youth, or the health and rehabilitation of our elderly and sick.
We just sit here, steadily watch our wealthy give our jobs to other countries, just so they can save a few pennies on the dollar.
Meanwhile our social security programs becoming extinct, and our unemployment rate is becoming increasingly out of control in the process.
Why is it our kids are now dealing drugs; or bringing guns, knives, and bombs to school with them.
And we blame them, when isn't it the parents whose responsibility is to create our children's future?
Then again we've given that responsibility to lawyers and entertainers.
...Instead of taking on that responsibility ourselves?
When are we ourselves, instead of paying attention to our portfolios wealth, going to start giving some much needed attention to the mental heath of our youth, and to our high school graduation percentage, instead of continuing to produce welfare recipients and fools?
How about instead of letting MTV and those stupid "Jackass" movies, raise and educate our babies, showing them just how stupid & loony people can be. We start introducing historical true facts our history has had… or the basics of how to read, write and add?
Or how about keeping that man on "the corner of the curb" with the keys to the brand new Hum-Vee from telling me, he can take me to the gates of Heaven;
...Or make My daughter a star.
When are we going to take RESPONSIBILTY!!! for our own actions and decisions?
…Start teaching our own kids, instead of bitching about the way the Entertainment Industry is.
It is just supposed to be Entertainment rite?
And why is it that so much shit has to happen to innocent kids, like the shit that’s happened to me?
Why is it that millions of us try to find a way everyday just to struggle to survive.
Why?!?!
Why are we giving millions to gangsters... just to ensure that our peasants remain just that... Peasants, this isn't the Middle Ages is it?
Now isn't it, that in this country; this place where we are all supposed to be equal and free.
Why then is it that for some of us just to eat, it's a sin and morally wrong for some ill reason?
Then again, it's not happening to you all, so you all pretend like it's not happening at all?
Yet, everyday as you all fall to the floors, begging for some lord to forgive you for your sins;
We all live a life of sin anyways, so why is it that some of us are still here;
...stomachs grumbling,
...hands bleeding,
...bodies aching,
Waiting for all those promises they were making to us all, when we were all fighting and dying in their wars, wars for their feuds and amusements.
And now, they play games with the words we fought wars for.
Leaving those of us with little or nothing to believe in, standing here stranded and abandoned…
..."ALOFT", out here thinking;
"When does it all end?"
"When is it that I get something to eat?" "When and where do I get someplace to sleep?
Other than this street corner or Bus stop bench?"
"When can I get something for my torn feet?"
"How do I get some healthcare for my diseases, Or counseling for my insanity?"
"Why am I forced to plea to crimes I didn’t commit?"
"And why is it that 'MY' birthday wishes have never come true?"
"Since when do thugs deserve millions to play some stupid games, and why is it that we listen to them complain?"
"Exactly who or what do we blame, when there is no-one or nothing to blame?”
"Why is it that kids have to learn “DaRules” of this fucked up game, even before they've learned to spell their names?"
"And why is it that I'm looked at with such shame, when all I've ever done is try to make a name for my son's to live up to, and be proud of?"
"And whose responsible for it all, if all of "US" take no part in the blame?"
Now, I have never asked anyone to remember my name, nor have I searched any fortune or fame.
Why then, am I forced to participate in this stupid game?
Why am I still expected to make millions in this world to ever amount to something, regardless if it's possible to make a penny...
Knowing the only thing I've ever wanted in this world... Is just a simple answer.
