Ok everyone here is a quick tutorial on how to make some awesome solventless oil. The process uses heat and pressure and start to finish can take less than 5 minutes with some practice. The end product can range from light yellow shatter to amber sap depending on material be technique. You will need:
1 flat iron - for straightening hair. Digital temp control is best, but an IR gun and an analog flag iron works as well.
Parchment paper. Wax paper will not do!
Oven mitt - the flat iron gets hot
Some nice nugs or no melt hash.
First, we want to use small pieces. .25-.5 is ideal depending on size of your flat iron. I use a one inch, two inch would be better. Here I start with 2g of some harlequin.
Next, set your flat iron to 320-360f. Higher temps press more oil out faster, but will be a darker and sappy product, depending on technique. Test different temps to see what works best for you. Here I use 320.
Take a piece of parchment paper and fold it in half. Place a small nug in the middle.
Put the parchment with nug between the flat iron, and quickly and evenly press down. A fair amount of pressure is used, but don't break your flat iron all you Hercules type out there. My little Japanese girlfriend can press out nugs so press hard, but dont blame me if you break your iron. I used a little silicon dab pad as my oven mit.
Press down no more than 3 seconds unless you want dark burnt sap!
Quickly and carefully slide the parchment out, sure to not let the smashed but slide and wipe away the hot oil. Once cool, seconds later, move the bud to a new spot and press again, same technique. Third presses can be useful or not depending on the bud and amount of heat and pressure used.
Your bud should be pretty damn thin when done. I save them for edibles, they are activated and rather potent.
Finally, scrape up your oil with a dabber and enjoy! I got .3 yield which isn't so bad, about 15%. I'll post a series of pictures of pressing some The White, and the yields are phenomenal!
This is the harlequin bud I used. Frosty, but a known low to medium yielder.
2g of the white. .5 yield. 25% yield of super yummy and clean solventless meds. Quick and easy!
