Generation Next

I looked at my children tonight, well mostly my oldest a 3 year old boy. I watched the way he was already into what is "his" and what is "not his" and always wanting to add a new toy to the arsenal. And I realized this is how it starts. This is where greed and materialism start, in the home with the parents. With me!! I am contributing to the brainwashing of my own child, convincing him he needs more stuff to be happy, to be fulfilled. And I am even tricked into thinking it is the right way," you have to give your child everything they need and most of the stuff they want, anything less would be bad parenting". I have to be the one to break the cycle. I am going to be the "bad parent", I'm not going to be responsible for raising another greedy, self-centered, and stressed out person who has to chase the American dream, only to realize the real meaning behind life, Happiness!
