DIY Bloom Fertilizer

This is an awesome solution you can make at home and feed your plants during the budding and flower stages of their growth cycle. The natural farming method emphasizes Potassium to enhance qualities like taste, sweetness, and increase in yields.

If you are just entering mid and have used the early flowering recipe, it's time to switch this this simple formula.

This recipe takes about 3 weeks to make. The idea is to use cannabis itself to promote the plant specific enzymes - this is not a must, but recommended (Depending of the size of your garden, you may not need many young, fresh cannabis plants. 330 gram/11 oz wil give you about 1.5 L of bloom fertilizer, and you only need 1 tbls of finished product per gallon of water)..

Important! - I have not tried this on cannabis yet, but it should work great. It really does works wonders when growing just about anything else.

1. Get some fruits. Any fruits can be used. We will also use cannabis plants. You can use herbs or weeds high in Potassium like Nettle, Comfrey (also a good source of Phosphorus) if it is hard to get cannabis (or a combination of both cannabis and other weeds or herbs). For the beta-carotene, yellow/orange plants like Carrots, Squash, Pumpkin, etc. It's important to emphasize Potassium during this time so those plants high in that element are recommended. In Asia they use banana, squash, pumpkin, papaya, mango, jack fruit, pineapple. Citrus fruits should generally be avoided. Recommended best combination for cannabis farmers is a 1: 1:1 mix of banana, squash, herbs/weed (preferably cannabis).

TIP: if you are growing tomatoes, add tomatoes to the fruits to ferment! Get the plant-specific enzymes, nutrients, etc. Want nice big flowers? Use flowers! Want to help the budding stage? Use flower buds and after fermentation, use concoction during budding time! Ferment small growing fruits if you want to promote fruit growth to produce larger fruits.

2. Mix fruits and herbs/weed 1:1 with sugar. E.g. if you gather 1kg of fruits and herbs/weed, mash them using a potato masher or a blender (Dont use your hands) with 1 kg sugar (brown sugar being the best), or 1L of molasses.

3. Add mixture to plastic jug and cover loosely.

4. It should ferment for 7-10 days.

5. If you start with 1kg fruits+1kg sugar, youll end up with 1.5L juice after fermentation.

6. Drain the juice after fermentation, into a glass/plastic jug for storage.

7. Leave cap off! For first couple weeks to allow bubbling to finish, then cap it.

How to Use:

Add 1tbsp per gallon of water.

Apply as a foliar spray or soil drench. Apply during bloom and budding phase. Can make separate bloom formulas for each phase.

  • Strengthens plants during flower/fruiting
  • Enhances flavor and sweetness in fruits
  • Performs the same function as many commercial bloom formulas but is 100% organic, does not burn plants
  • Can be used all the way until harvest - no flush needed unless you use something else in combination that will inflict taste

This is somewhat a work in progress, but if you want to try it out before i have, please share your experience.

Storing:
You can store this in the fridge for a long time - prolly a year or more (smell it if you are in doubt)
